If Greg Oden wasn't worthy of this list, the season-ending injury he just took should cap that. Seems to be the next Sam Bowie instead of a franchise big man.
Blazers are just snake bitten with big men. Though LMA seems to be pretty good.
At this point, the Blazers would be thrilled if Oden turned into Bowie.
anyone remember lenny cooke? i remember first hearing about him on outside the lines. he was supposed to be everything lebron was in HS and is now. i dont remember why it all went wrong with but he definitly came to mind.
Per minute basis Cardo. When you take his production and divide it by the 34 career minutes he's played, there's almost no one in the league who's better
I'm curious as to whether people think his "waste" is because of the constant injuries that he had or whether or not that it was his lack of committment to training to help prevent these injuries. The guy was definitely sick but also played a style that was pretty susceptible to injuries.
I know he's a party animal but is it that or had he just not been able to get his injured thumb fixed?
I think the injury is a huge excuse. That's been like 2.5 years now. Biggest problem is the party animal stuff, and he's awful tee to green. I think he was dead last on the pga tour last year driving the ball. His misses off the tee were like 40+ feet off to the left or right, and he never had a clue which way it was gonna go. And I also don't think Anthony Kim was a RIDICULOUS talent
pretty horrible list and methodology. most of the players on that list had plenty of chances to be great, had long careers, and didnt deal with any lasting injuries. in other words, tim couch and david carr straight up werent good enough. likewise all the basketball players other than oden.
clarett, and mike williams usc and palmer could qualify tho.
that's one of the dumbest things i've ever seen posted in SE. honestly, that's surprising b/c you're not a bad poster. did you just brain fart all of the sacks david carr took? i just watched a special on 1st round QB busts on the nfl network, and it documented how tim couch's career was cut short by injury. let that be a cautionary tale to any top QB talent that goes to an expansion team. you're going to get the ever-living S kicked out of you behind a woeful O-line.
Watching this never gets old. He gets the baton at the 2:40 mark in second place. Not the greatest quality since it's 22 years old from a camcorder but you can still get the gist.

I ran track at the same time as Obea, we were both class of '97 and our schools were only a few miles away. at big invitational meets, when he ran, you could feel the entire crowd just shut down and focus on watching him. it was unreal. so sad that he amounted to nothing after high school.
