You realize that the original Game of the Century played in 1971 was on thanksgiving, right? You realize that NU/OU played on Thanksgiving and then the day after Thanksgiving virtually every year in the Big 8 and that it had absolutely nothing to do with Texas since they were in another conference and then NU/Colorado was on Friday after the B12 was formed, right?

And to address your other point, I see two Pac ten games, an SEC game, an ACC game, two Big East games, one of the best ConfUSA games of the year, and then a few other games. So what conferences aren't trash then?

The day after Thanksgiving is immune to the normal GTFO with Friday games rule for real teams.

I don't understand this mindset at all. One of the great things about the Big Ten basketball TV contract is not only do I get to see every single conference game out of market in Boston, but none of the conference games overlap each other. So I can watch every Northwestern game and not miss any other conference game that I might also want to watch.

During football season, we'll often have 4 games start at noon eastern Saturday, then one at 3:30. That sucks cuz I only get to watch 2 games. If during conference play they went to a format of 1 game thursday night, 1 game Friday night, 1 game noon saturday, 1 game 3:30 saturday, 1 game 8 PM on Saturday, everyone would benefit.

Major conference football should only be played on Saturdays excluding Thanksgiving week and obviously bowl games.

"Mid-major" conference football on days other than Saturdays is a great lead-up (like an undercard!) to Saturday morning tailgating and it beats anything else that ESPN, etc. would be televising on those nights.

I don't see how NU can possibly be higher than Wiscy preseason when you account for Wilson and that NU plays a tougher schedule + plays Wiscy on the road. Wisconsin could be really sick this year imo. I'm also a little more pessimistic about NU's transition the first year than most Husker homers.

Doesn't matter. Nebraska just needs to win their division, then win the title game. Wisconsin could be 12-0 going into that game, and Nebraska 8-4, and Nebraska wins that one game, they get the ring.
