It was Brad Edwards. He said he thought it was unlikely Auburn will jump Ohio St in the full BCS rankings and without explaining that statement I assume he means he recognizes there will be voter shenanigans to keep Auburn from jumping tOSU.

LOL well no **** the Sugar Bowl is not interested in UCF. They don't exactly have a choice.

The selection order for the final three is Orange, Sugar, Fiesta. Either the Orange takes them or the Fiesta does.

Sugar has to pick someone over them, though, nath. They can't just say "no". Their options will be NIU and UCF.

If OSU and FSU win out:

FSU/OSU NCG
Pac12/Atlarge2 Rose
Atlarge1/Atlarge3 Orange
SEC/Atlarge4 Sugar
Big12/Atlarge5 Fiesta

UCF and NIU are guaranteed at large positions.

Alabama may also be guaranteed an at large bid as the #4 team, but they won't need it because they will be selected by the Orange Bowl as the first at large. Rose probably takes Michigan State if they can, maybe Big 12 #2 if they can't. Orange then goes with Clemson or Big 12 #2. Sugar and Fiesta are stuck with the scraps.

If the NCG is SEC champ/FSU,

SEC/FSU
PAC12/B1G rose
Atlarge1/Atlarge3 orange
Atlarge2/Atlarge4 sugar
Big12/Atlarge5 fiesta

In this scenario the Orange bowl would not be allowed to take Alabama because the Sugar bowl has the right to first refusal for any SEC team. In that case they would probably go with Clemson vs. B1G #2 or Big 12 #2. Sugar and Fiesta are still stuck with the scraps. The only way the Orange bowl takes UCF is if they see them as a more attractive choice than at least one ACC/B1G/Big 12 team. That seems unlikely.

If I was an AP voter my ballot as of today would read

1. FSU
2. Auburn
3. Bama
4. Missouri
5. Ohio state

Ohio state has literally played nobody I don't think they should be rewarded for it. Glad to be done with bcs after this year I hope michigan state beats them 77 - 3

Also Florida state hasn't played anyone that good either but at least they ape smashed Clemson FFS

Guys, Urban Meyer would get smashed in the title game. OSU would be a 7+ point underdog, and no Urban Meyer coached team could win in a title game where they were big underdogs. Maybe if OSU runs the table again next year, bringing their streak to 39-0, they can get in if no SEC team has less than 2 losses.

No, I get that. What I'm hearing is that the Sugar has shown no interest in UCF. Now, I don't know why they'd pick NIU over UCF, but it sounds like they're leaning against picking UCF for whatever reason.

This is all moot because if OSU wins next week, they'll have beaten a top 10 team, at which point you can't keep them out of the game.

Scenario:

tOSU, FSU, Auburn win. Auburn jumps tOSU to get in.
Winston charged. Either doesn't play or plays terribly, Auburn wins.
tOSU shocks everyone and covers vs. Stanford or whoever.
Crystal football to Auburn, AP goes to tOSU.

SEC <3ers get:
Crystal football montage unmolested

tOSU haters get:
GTFO of MNC

tOSU <3ers get:
The AP split (maybe settle for some Cristal instead of crystal)
STREAK intact

FSU <3ers get:
Reassurance that southern aristocracy still has enough inside pull with law enforcement to draw a dubious rape charge. #cleatchasers

Everyone gets:
LOL BCS, LOL NCAA

I keep reading this and trying to come up with an interpretation that isn't victim-blaming, but I'm failing. Help me out?

The SEC champion deserves to play in the national championship.

Probably won't happen that way, but that's what I think.

I'll book this at 5:1 if you are interested. Auburn beats Mizzou, tOSU beats Michigan St., FSU beats Duke. All 3 must happen for bet to be live. I'll bet my $50 to your $250 that Auburn plays in the national championship game over Ohio State. Quote and affirm to confirm.

Nath, I didn't realize you were suggesting NIU would be taken ahead of UCF by the Sugar Bowl. That's interesting if true. Hopefully NIU loses next week and we'll get Stanford or Baylor instead.
