Re: Baseball Dream...

amazin - Yes. But if you actually CAN pitch then they can work with you on the fielding. The stuff in the outfield is a bit more significant.

Don't cause actual damage to yourself for this. Seriously.
Pain is mainly right after I stop throwing. It's pretty bad. I went home, did some mobility exercises and took a nap and it's nowhere near as bad, although still sore.

I experience a sharp pain in my lower bicep when I'm throwing.

This is what you said.

"Sharp pain" when you are throwing...and then even more after you are done throwing. I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure that isn't good.

Pro pitchers have trainers that they can do to with their pain issues. When the trainers aren't really sure what's happening or deem that it MIGHT be semi-serious they immediately get that player to a doctor to get looked at (MRI or whatever). Generally speaking, they don't F around with this stuff.

Pitchers that have sustained pain sometimes end up needing surgery. I've known MANY pitchers who have had surgery.

In your situation, you really can injure yourself and/or cause actual damage here. You have no clue what you are doing and are feeling sharp pain when you throw.

This is probably a combination of your awful mechanics, throwing way too hard way too often, and your arm not being conditioned properly. You need to stop before you can't lift your arm.

Re: Baseball Dream...

So next time out my goal are for better mechanics and arm speed.

Throwing on a downward plane, shortening my motion, raising my arm angle, getting more leg and hip rotation into my motion.

Also will getting video of me in the long toss portion of my workouts so I can look for mechanical faults that are keeping me from achieving maximum distance.

Mr - I'm not going to feel bad about it. I'm pretty much begging him to be careful and believe he should stop. Completely serious. I can't do much more than that.

Re: Baseball Dream...

I want to add that throwing against a fence is horrible feedback. Try to play catch with someone. This will give you some actual target and hearing a glove pop is always nice feedback, no matter how hard you are throwing.

You didn't answer me about how accurate you are from 180. Are you just launching balls that are sailing 180 in some semblance of direction, or are you able to throw them with consistent trajectory and aim? I guess I wouldn't expect this at this point but I'm just curious.

Re: Baseball Dream...

prohorn - You can see the videos of his throws from closer range. They appear to be kind of all over the place. And, as you noticed, he kind of hops one direction and squares that way and then flings it weirdly across the body.

I'm pretty sure we already know the answer to the accuracy of his 180 ft throws.

I actually was playing catch with someone. He's not capable of holding the camera while catching though so...

To answer your question, the latter until I get to my max. Up to about 170 - 175 I can throw with consistant aim. Once I'm maxing no aim.

Re: Baseball Dream...

I don't think he's throwing to any target tho I think he's just trying to fling it as hard as he can at the fence.

Re: Baseball Dream...

Turns out it's just some inflammation, which is good. I'll be increasing the workload from here on out.
