Huge props to the #AusOpen for putting TV cameras on every court this year. Not always the full production value, but a huge value add.

THIS. GOAT slam AINEC.

Just as I predicted, an epic five set match between Kokkinakis and Gulbis. Gulbis missed 4 MP in the fourth.

Kerber, Lisicki and Ivanovic all lol once again. Especially the lack of consistency of the two Germans is embarrassing, as it happens quite often.

I think he only had to hit one first serve out of those 4 too. Gotta love Thanasi just tagging a clutch forehand slap on the last MP.

Gulbis hit like two shots in the wjole 4th set breaker. This is becoming a cray cray match

Gulbis only had a look at a thousand second serves in that game too. Kokk stepping up in some big moments as well. Gulbis more likely to go away with a whimper than win this now. Deserves it for those shorts.

To be fair kokkinakis looks like a giant yellow traffic cone

Obviously Gulbis is a complete idiot for losing that match, but still massive credits to Kokkinakis, such a great hustle throughout.

who were those 2 commentators at the GOE-BEN and MIL-LIS match (ESPN)? for me as a super casual viewer, it was very nice and easy to listen to them.

also liked that high5 run by kokki at the end of the match. i'm definetly gonna root for this guy from now on.

I was surprised he even hung around in the fifth set after losing the fourth. I knew the result was inevitable, Gulbis always loses in that spot but I still can't fathom him going like 0/12 in MP/BP chances over the final 2 sets. It's an unbelievable type of stat considering his opponent.

I thought Genie's path to the SF was easy last year.

This year she has been gifted a draw after round 1.

I crushed that Kokkinakis pick, but Jaziri is the pick of the day, IMO.

yeah jaziri was a boss pick.

There's a few more upset picks for the top half today. You have ymer, copil, puetz. DGBG has lokoli, bachinger, lorenzi, hernych. Steve has thiem and GGL. I have stakhovsky.

Honestly what was gulbis thinking In that match. It looked like he wanted to go toe to toe with kokkinakis's forehand - the kid hit one BH winner all match and it was a net cord.

Still got to feel for the man, losing after having match points is the worst. And that challenge in the 5th set on the Gulbis break point at 6 all was super gross. WP from thanasi too.

tyty

Although, Gulbis pick is going to destroy the rest of my bracket

That Thiem/Bautista-Agut match should be a good one. Bautista-Agut had a good year last year but was it legit or somewhat of a fluke? Thiem is an up and comer and has a lot of talent.

Probably the R1 match I was looking forward to the most other than Del Po/Janowicz.

Lorenzi isn't an underdog pick anymore by the way, 1.53 on Betfair, lol.

I might just watch all womens matches today, gonna be some epic ****. Sloane-vika, krunic-davis, pennetta-giorgi. TT gets another crack at woz.

I disagree about thiem-bautista being one to watch. The ATP's most boring player vs the ATP's most clueless ball basher. meh

I'd watch monfils but it's the late match in the night session and I gotta work tomorrow so I can't stay up until 6am again.

I might check out ymer or lokoli just because I've never seen either of them.

Sloane vs. Azarenka is a sick first round matchup.

Nishikori vs. Almagro is a pretty good first round matchup as well.
