2002 iirc for umpires uniforms...

Makes so much sense to wear red, green, yellow etc... Depending on teams.

Re: AFL (Australian Football League) & Dreamteam Official Discussion

Bump for finals series starting on Friday night....

The final ladder for the those not paying a heap of attention to the competition...

COLLINGWOD
GEELONG
HAWTHORN
WEST COAST EAGLES
-----------------
CARLTON
ST.KILDA
SYDNEY
ESSENDON

That means week 1 of the finals play out as

GEELONG VS HAWTHORN: Friday night MCG
COLLINGWOOD VS W.C.E: Sat afternoon MCG
St. KILDA VS SYDNEY: Sat night Etihad Stadium
CARLTON VS ESSENDON: Sunday MCG

The winners of the first two games go straight though to the preliminary finals (Last 4). The losers of those games play the winners of the elimination games in the semi-finals, were the competition becomes a straight knockout.

I am also happy we are scheduled to play Carlton if results go to plan rather then St.Kilda if we lose in the first round, since IMO St.K are a far dangerous proposition then Carlton.

Also, I think Ratten gets the sack if he loses vs Essendon on Sunday.

From my teams perspective (West Coast Eagles). I am amazingly happy with the season since we were expected to finish around 14th of 17 according to most. Our new forward line is amazing and we have by far the best ruck duo in the competition in Natanui and Cox. If only we still had a firing Ben Cousins and Chris Judd

The market has Collingwood odds on to win the title, but I honestly like the field vs them betting wise, especially since most bookies have it as a 3 horse race (Coll, Gee and Haw) Coll are guaranteed a tough prelim against either Gee, Haw or St.K rather then either the Eagles or Carlton.

That assumes of course that Collingwood beat West Coast on Saturday.

I think we win somewhere around 15% of the time, but even if they lose they still get that tough prelim as well as a match against a big rival (either Essendon or Carlton) as well.

Re: AFL (Australian Football League) & Dreamteam Official Discussion

Yeah if you wanted to play us in a final it will be this week. I think assuming we dont get anymore injuries in 2-3 weeks time we will be very difficult to beat. Unfortunately the weather forecast looks pretty horrible for WC with all their tall forwards and pretty awesome for the pies particularly if Tarrant misses. My biggest concern is Jolly's form given he is going to be up against best ruck combo in the comp. If WC are to have enjoy chance their rucks have to destroy it. Kerr playing is massively important for WC as well.

Too much is being made of the players that we've had out recently. Fitness won't be an issue it just a matter of them gaining match touch.:

Of the players we had out recently:
-Heath Shaw should be super fit after Arizona
- Maxwell and Dawes have both been out with broken fingers so thats not going to effect their fitness too much.
- Thomas has been suspeneded
-Wellingham has had a groin but he has been back for a couple of weeks so should be fine.

Tarrant could be a concern but all reports are that his ankle will be ok.

All in all I think last weeks match v. Geelong was a cruel joke by the CFC designed to get the other contenders hopes up
