Only in some states. Some you can just rent at 21.

I'm sure all states have "I'm a ****ing rich athlete so let me rent" clause.

That's what I thought as that is the impression I get when reading/hearing it. It just seems strange to me that the media would use the term "associate" with its negative connotations while they overuse "allegedly" to the point of nausea and law-enforcement agencies do the same with "persons of interest".

We're talking about people. Most of them are very stupid - a very small portion of them have elite athletic skills and are thus put in a position of prominent stupidity.

Dino is confirmed terrible.

So there was an empty car where the body was? So perhaps the dude driving the car is the dead guy and he was a friend of Aaron and got himself into a bad situation?

To me, the most surprising part of this story: 23 year olds can rent cars. I guess that 25 year minimum is just an old wives tale?

As a Patriot fan, I would have ranked him 2nd on the team in Most Likely to Murder, after Brandon Spikes. The guys touchdown dance is a strip club move for god's sake.
Thought the same thing wrt the suit

Re: Aaron Hernandez: ruh roh?

To sum up what was reported. Victim found dead like 1/2 mile from Hernandez's home. Victim is dating the sister of Hernandez's GF. A rental car that is in the name of Hernandez was found close by.

The police got a search warrant for Hernandez's house so there must have been some probable cause to get that. They are also looking for another rental car that is in the name of Hernandez.

Best case scenario for Hernandez is if he was friends with the victim and it was the victim driving the rental car that was found near him.

wow at that wiki article. I've heard of people getting some serious time for something like lending a car or...a bat that is used or something. Damn thats ridiculous the judge was handing out life sentences like that **** was going out of style. I could see 3-5 years or something but ****, life with no parole. Just kill me.

Re: Aaron Hernandez: ruh roh?

Are people really surprised that a dude who intentionally lent his car for the purpose of committing a crime is held responsible for the results?

I'm not necessarily defending that result, but like. . .

EDIT: . . . in fact, I think I will defend that result. If you lend your car for the purpose of a mere armed robbery, and the result is worse, I don't understand why you would be protected from the result of the crime you facilitated.

Also lol @ not negotiating a plea deal, but whatever.

he lent his car so his friends could go steal a pound of weed, also he was drunk. he is now doing life in prison. lol at defending the result.

if your friend asked to borrow your car to go BUY an eighth of weed, would you say no? because he might just kill someone and your life could be over. where do you draw the line?

not that clear that he knew what was up

To be fair, 100 out of 100 times he is going to say that after the fact, regardless.

If he knew he was lending his car for an armed robbery I don't feel bad.

No, I would not lend my car to someone to go buy weed.

Holle was the only involved person to be offered a plea bargain that might have led to only 10 years in prison but he refused the deal. Holle's trial lasted one day, including testimony, jury deliberations, conviction, and sentencing.
Jury thought he knew about the robbery, clearly, and that led to the result we see here. Bad defense attorney? Bad witness? Liar? Obviously I have no idea, but the jury was satisfied.

The thing to ***** about here is the jury, not the law.
