Kvitova calling trainer for being tired oooookayyyy

Kvitova looked like she had run a marathon or something. I never understood why bookies made her joint favorite to win it so soon after returning. I mean, sure with the state of women tennis she could win it, but favorite seemed a bit of a stretch.

Who was the favourite then? She just won a grass court tournament. There are absolutely no woman's players who are good whatsoever right now.

Giorgi is one of those weird cases where she looks way better on court than off court.

yea I can definitely see why that flag thing would amuse Scottish fans.

I've never understood with the rivalry between scotland/england/wales we pool them together in certain sports. The rivalry is mostly friendly banter between those countries which makes it more fun when we play against one another.

YOUNG BREAKS! Rafa played those last few points very nervy, strange.

The end of that Rafa/Young match was pretty decent but far to one sided.

how has nadal gone into 10/3 to win the whole thing? some money going in for the guy who is probably behind both federer and murray (even with an injury)

Djok is in Fed's bracket if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty amazing how little the top 100-200 ATP $$ winners make, especially compared to golf. When the world #200 has barely cracked $100k halfway through the year, risking any portion of ~$40k is a tough ask.
And that's excluding expenses and taxes.

It's not like they have a retirement plan in place when they have to hang it up in their mid 30's. They'll be selling cars then.

I've never hated the English, they're just wankers. We were colonised by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonised by. It's a ****e state of affairs Tommy.

I think when you share a border you're just straight up conquered, not colonized

Harrison had to go to 9-7 in the fifth in his doubles match. Berdych has played like **** all year though so you never know.

I just assumed a lot of ex fringe pros would go and teach tennis. I think a lot of people would find it cool to have a coach that played wimbledon or played nadal once or whatever.

Land of the free tax prize money, still find that funny.

Anyway, difference between gold and tennis is there are a lot more tournaments with equal or greater prize pool. It's much easier for a ranked outside to finish a lot higher too so over all isn't really a fair comparisment. Like tommy fleetwoood whose now ranked #21 finished fourth in the US. For a number 20 in tennis to get there they'd have to go through 2 very tough players who'll they'll be a major dog against.

I find the women's matches to be a bit more entertaining today. One of these underdog men are gonna really have to step up to add some flare to today's slate.
