loads of english supporters will root for whoever murray is playing

during the early days of andy murray's career he said in some interview that he's scottish and not british. Then there was some flag debate where he wanted a scottish flag and not the union jack following a tournament win

needless to say he's got a lot of people split between loving him and hating him in england

Konta was a very late bloomer, she never had any kind of hype while coming up through the ranks.

Casual fans everywhere generally get excited about whoever the media tells them to get excited about. So it never happened with Konta.

I don't get the rocks your colours thing. This isn't the world cup (or Davis cup). It's an individual sport. Who cares what the flag beside their name on TV says? If Konta was representing Australia but everything else was the same they don't support her? Sure in the Davis cup it makes sense but this seems like some sort of weird rabid blind nationalism to me. If they are a **** I don't care that they are Irish I won't be a fan, and if they are from Switzerland and look like a GOAT I'll support them like they are my own countryman.
