in Curry's case last year, he was hurt enough to miss 2 weeks of the playoffs. how much of that was still effecting him when he played is debatable, but seems silly to think he "wasn't hurt"
I mean, Kerr had him on Westbrook during the whole OKC series, he didn't have to. Specially not if he thought he was still struggling physically.

dude gave himself the nickname "the king" as a teenager. basically all you never need to know about him.

went to a superteam and made an entire televised special about it then left the superteam when they werent super enough so he could run the cavs and get dave griffin to build a superteam in his hometown. dont forget he backstabbed his first coach for not showing enough deference to him and then complained to his gm about his bench when he recruited half his old friends to take up roster spots. oh and then those same bron fangirls criticize durant for going to the warriors. absolutely incredible

The Cavs didn't "build a superteam". They got 2 blue chip draft picks (traded one for Love), and re-signed LeBron

its amazing how many lebron slappies want to try to paint this as lebron and his team of misfits taking on the evil empire. the cavs have a $446 Million starting lineup. both teams are the ****ing same.

Dropping 40 and shouting "I'm Back" makes giving him the benefit of the doubt for being banged up later on a bit tougher.

Some of being off his game offensively had to be attributable to getting ran through the ringer on D.

Going to a team that drafted Nevada Fats #1 overall then guaranteeing a ring and delivering it seems pretty brave to me

Kinda like Red Sox/Yankees when the Yanks had a 200m payroll at the time and Sox was only a mere 125 mill.

Sox went out and got Manny, Pedro, Schilling, Foulke, etc and Yanks were still adding stars at a much higher rate.

Agreed, but don't really see the problem. This is two of the best 3 or 4 teams in history going at it. Nearly any other period in time they both three-peat super easily. They're just super unlucky to run into each other.

We're not. Gunna be great

Yeah, one team has arguably looked better when it's best/second best player was injured, the other has been absolutely terrible whenever LeBron sits, but they're both goliaths, it's pretty much the same.
The warriors have two of the best three players in the world and Green is more important to them than Durant, somehow the fact that the Cavs are paying TT a ton of money doesn't really make up for that.

Durant is the Dominique Wilkins/ Elgin Baylor of his era.

Are you just gonna keep beating this point to the ground despite how stupid it is? Tristian Thompson is paid a max, does that mean he's a max player? No, he just had a bunch of leverage and the Cavs either had to pay him or get nothing. These two teams are nothing alike. If you need an example of how dumb it is to sort by payroll look no further than the Warriors having two players (Curry/Green) who are better than 3 of the guys on the Cavs making more $ than them. It's just hugely disingenuous and ridiculous you keep bringing it up.

These teams are "nothing alike" because we've literally never had anything remotely like these Warriors before. The Cavs are still at least as much a super team as any OTHER super team in history.

The Warriors have basically "solved" basketball.

The only reason this series is interesting is because of the GOAT, LeBron James, whereby all things are possible.

Amen.

The 2016-17 Warriors' roster includes two players that have won the last three MVPs. Both are in their prime. They also have two additional players, both in their prime, who have been all-stars each of the last two seasons.

The 1982-1983 Philadelphia 76ers provide a comparison. This squad featured two players that had collectively won the last four MVP awards, although Dr. J. was past his prime at this point (still a great player, though). The team also featured two more all-stars that season, in Mo Cheeks and Andrew Toney. Both Cheeks and Toney were in their prime. A fifth 76er, Bobby Jones, had earned the 4th and 5th all-star appearances of his career in the two prior seasons.

The Sixers went 12-1 in the postseason, sweeping a great LA team in the Finals with a +40 pd.

It blows my mind how little teams shot 3 pointers back then. That team made only 25 of them all season, and made only 1 in the playoffs.

Why didn't anybody learn how to shoot from a little farther? It's really not that hard....

I've had this come up at least 3 times in casual NBA conversation and I have no answer for it other than, "Yeah, I don't get it either."

They picked a firm date ahead of time for the purposes of the advertisers.

As much as it's frustrating--you, tut, myself and everyone else will watch no matter what. NBA has everyone by the balls.

They didn't shoot 3s because the coach would pull them out of the game if they did. It wasn't the players, it was the coaches. The coaches did not want 3 point shots taken.

In one of the early seasons with the 3, the Warriors had a guy they put in the game to shoot 3s... if it was the final minute and they were down by 5+. Considering the constraints I'm amazed he shot a decent %. (Joel Hasset)

It's time to implement the half court 4 point shot

I think a longer range 4 point shot would be silly.

But perhaps an exciting rule would be that you get an extra point anytime you score a 3 with 20+ on the shot clock. In other words, bonus point for scoring faster = faster paced more exciting style rewarded.
