I'm an NBA betting fish but a friend of mine is so confident that the Warriors are going to win he offered me +400 on the Cavs, looked it up and actual books have price at around +210 so I obv snap took it (post-research).

cavs opened like 30% right. based on the game 1 line and assuming ~a flip in cleveland, sweep is maaaybe half that? the cavs are not some kind of trash team. sweeping them would be a big accomplishment

I really think Cleveland is a nightmare matchup for Golden State. The Warriors defense is so good because they can hide their bad off-ball players on offense and their one bad (relatively speaking) defender on defense. Cleveland plays an offensive game that it tailor-made to take advantage of bad individual defenders in 1v1 situations, and I can see them simply letting Draymond/Iggy/maybe even Klay continue to take wide-open shots with the impetus that their shots will be better than Golden State's. Golden State is great at switching on D, but Cleveland just so happens to have a team that abuses that strat more than anyone with the exception of one team I won't mention.

Perhaps it's just me hoping, but I think Steph is gonna get into some foul trouble throughout the series.

Anyway my true prediction is Warriors in 6 because this series is just destined to end like the other two with the winner doing it in enemy territory.

yeah, agree with this, esp the bolded. i faulted kerr last year for not playing more pnr or even iso in both the wcf and the finals. like fine run the actions, but when they concede a poor matchup go at it. they have done that a lot more this year it feels like, though idk the #s. lot of that is mike brown (lol), but kerr has also warmed to it more based on some quotes. prob in large part b/c of last year, but utilizing durant makes it more palatable to him i guess.


i am very interested to see how much the cavs match up within their base defense and how much they switch. that's likely to dictate how much the woyas break out of their normal actions to target mismatches.
