Auba not to China, it has closed now. Turned down 30m/y net wage apparently. Or whatever happened in this case.

Rumors swirling that bakayoko either failed his medical or Monaco blocked the transfer

the medical thing makes more sense, especially given that i read he currently had something that would keep him out for ~10 weeks
(so maybe it's more serious than that? or just a way to knock the price down some)

Bakayoko did look like he played while injured latter part of the season.

Still can't quite believe that Bonucci is gonna be playing for Milan.

It's a long time since a big transfer has surprised me like this.

Maybe the biggest since Beckham to RM materialized, though maybe I was easier to surprise way back then.

Kyle Walker playing for Pep will be fascinating.

For many years his decision-making was almost intolerable to me. Not that he was dumb, except for various defensive mistakes, usually to do with position, but you'd just see him do things in places, find himself in places, that you'd never see from other right-backs.

For a while now the Poch system has run so well and Walker arguably improved enough that those things are less common but he's still something of a raw wild card with how he plays.

One who most importantly is talented enough though, to do so many things that City right-backs couldn't last season and even a very subjective impression of mine that he isn't quite the athletic beast that he used to be, seems to be mostly brushed aside by him still recording highest top speeds for his position (WHICH COULD still be him simply freelancing like no one else going on some crazy extended sprints but who knows).

Never seen him play unfortunately. I've seen some Brazilians on twitter calling him a big talent.

I was glancing at his numbers but only 990 to go from, so it's a lot of guessing.

He's been shooting a lot. More than anyone on their team besides veteran striker Luis Fabiano.

Definitely too much from outside too but combined with barely having missed a selective number of dribbles and then I'm guessing finding himself with space and time, it's probably a good sign overall.

He's also created chances from crossing, so maybe he's freelancing some. That it's a high number key passes from crosses compared to short, could just be that he's playing with Luis Fabiano who at 36 is probably more box oriented than ever. He's a guy that Jesus Navas used to feed a lot from the wing at Sevilla!

Overall Douglas Luiz clearly does the most passing on the team (including nice accurate longer passing which no one else on the team is doing), so definitely a go to guy already on the team.

He's been taking setpieces which always tell you that he's a top ball-striker on the team.

He's also fouled like the most attacking players on the team besides veteran Nene (former PSG and one the greatest crossers of the ball in recent times).

Seems increasingly likely with other clubs just throwing $ around that Sanchez will either go for way less then he should in late August, or he leaves on a free next year.

What about the following scenario?

We're in January and pep's patented 3-6-1 formation hasn't been working for him. His 560M squad is not getting the job done and they're currently sitting at a frustrating 4th in the league and out of the title race. Eltbus is full on rage at this point.
Luckily for them, they managed to scrap to the CL last 16 by beating FC Kazakhstanville and Dinamo Split, so now all their eggs are in the CL basket and the Sheik is going big on this one, he absolutely wants Alexis to help him win the CL and is ready to pay big money.

Meanwhile Arsene is looking at his 600 employees and the prospect of them not getting paid at the end of the month is making him nervous. he's got the choice to receive 50M pounds now for a player that is going to be leaving the club in 5 months anyway.

Too unrealistic? Can a player transferered at the winter break even play in the CL if he's already played in the EL?

Could he be CL eligible in January? I know CL to Europa isn't allowed but think E to C is?

Shirley they have the money to pay him

yes a lot is possible:

Can a player play in UEFA competition for more than one club in the same season?

As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, excluding UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. However, a player can play for one club in the first, second and third qualifying round, and/or the play-offs, of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, and then represent another club from the group stage of either competition.

What about if a player moves in the January transfer window?

A club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the knockout stage. Such registration must be completed by midnight CET on 2 February 2016.

One player from the above quota of three can have been fielded in a group stage by another club in the current season, provided that the player has not been fielded:

In the same competition for another club; OR
For another club that is currently in the same competition (applies specifically to third-placed UEFA Champions League teams joining the UEFA Europa League)
One or more players from the above quota of three can be registered even if they have been fielded by another club in the first, second or third qualifying round, and/or play-offs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League.

If he stays I think it's likely it's a one year extension with some "if we don't get back in the CL you can leave" handshake kind of deal.

Aina I dont think will ever be Chelsea standard, though in typing that I have just made him world class.

Chabs/Ake I am sad to see go but we can always get them back, and if we want them back it is basically just an expensive loan like we did with Matic and nearly Lukaku.

Solanke have not seen enough of to comment.
👍👍

Didn't know than Chalobah and Ake had buybacks.

I think if you can keep this band together it will be a great summer for spurs. Where would you guys like to sign players? I guess if Dier goes it would be nice to get a DM and perhaps a RB. But some Spuds fans suggest Trippier will be getting the nod.

Also if we think Janssen is to stay I'd doubt Levy pays for a new backup striker
