Evertons business is alot like us post Suarez or spurs post bale. They are trying hard but the end result is likely to be -5 to -10points regardless of what they do.

They're after Giroud now as well.

We've changed our MO this summer. We seem to have knocked the loose lips on the head, but have retained our scattergun approach to transfers and the inability to get significant deals over the line.

I don't give a **** what he calls himself, I demand that he has Hernandez on the back of his shirt like a normal human being, whether he's playing for us or someone else.

Good analogy. Sandro in today for £5m, which seems great business in the current market, but obviously a huge drop-off from Lukaku.

Just pulling the trigger will result in us caving in on the buy-back clause and giving up a lot of potential upside, so I can see why we are leery. He is also going to be hotly competed over, which means our scope for haggling and endlessly terming out the payments is limited. I think he'll go somewhere else.

A tramline on a receding shaven head's a bit rascal.

Burnley lost both Keane and George Boyd today.

Good luck to both, they've been excellent in their three years at the club. Boyd shouldn't be a great loss, although his work rate will be hard to replace. I think he was likely to be a squad player this season with Brady hopefully nailing down his spot in the team.

Fee could rise to £30m for Keane, which is a good price. We need to find the next one off the production line now.

Any indication that Burnley are going to have a big spend this summer TP?

Depends what you call a big spend!

We spent £32m last season and the chairman has said we'll be aiming to spend more than that (and I think we need to).

I believe Charlie Taylor has agreed terms and if we can't agree a fee with Leeds it'll go to tribunal, but there hasn't been a lot of speculation about other signings. We do tend to keep things under wraps until they are close though.

Looks like Gray will be going, as he's going into the last year of his contract and doesn't look like he'll sign a new one.

With the money from Keane and possibly Gray, I would hope we spend a lot more than the £32mx.

Nice statement from Keane on the Burnley website:
Quote:
I can honestly say I have had the best three years of my life here, on and off the pitch!

“I have had a lot of special moments while playing for you, notably my two goals against Brighton and Middlesbrough in the Championship winning season.

“Of course, we created history as a team last season by staying in the Premier League and by playing regularly it helped my dream come true of playing for England.

“I will never be grateful enough for the work Sean Dyche, Ian Woan, Tony Loughlan and Billy Mercer have done with me on a daily basis to get me to this point in my career.

“The gaffer showed a lot of faith in me three years ago, when it could have been easy for me to stay at United and look for an opportunity there.

“He convinced me to come to Burnley and develop under his guidance and I put that down as one of the best decisions I've ever made, so thanks gaffer!

“I also want to say thanks to all the backroom staff, of which there are too many to name: strength and conditioning coaches, analysts, nutritionist, physios, chef, media team and Bumble!

“As for my team mates, I can honestly say I've never enjoyed playing with a group of people more.

“They have the never-say-die attitude and the talent to go with it. From day one they welcomed me into the group and I have made friends for life with them all and will miss seeing them every day.

“Finally, the fans. You have been amazing with me and the team since day one through low times and the many successful times we have had together.

“That support is what drives the team on and there are many games where we feel you helped push us over the line.

“Even when we were struggling away from home last season you continued to travel to every game and sing your hearts out for us and we thankfully rewarded you with a win at Palace!

“Burnley Football Club will always have a special place in my heart and I wish you all the best for the upcoming season. I can't wait to play at Turf Moor again in March!

Thanks for everything!

UTC!

'Keano'.

I think bandit may have said it earlier, but, you may be able to snag Fosu-Mensah on the cheap the way things are currently going

I would imagine with another successful season that Dyche will be in demand. He's no Holloway, but, what can you do

I'd be quite happy if we raided Man Utd's youth team again, or even Man City's, which is where Trippier and Mee came from.

Unfortunately (for you) there are no real talents in our u-23's at an age where they might feel they've reached the end of the line at United and need to move on (like Keane was). Tuanzebe, Williams, TFM and Mitchell are the best u-23's and they'll probably give it at least 1-2 years before moving on.

TFM the most likely to move for 1st team football. I'd be happy for him to get experience elsewhere and have a cheap buy back clause. He's a physical specimen and schooled at Ajax so naturally better on the ball than any English cb in history.

ive heard that

He is equally adept at playing as either a defender or a midfielder, but plays mostly as a centre back.

and that

Lejeune was born in Paris and began his football career in July 1998 at the Centre de Formation de Paris, a youth sporting club designed to cater only to football players under the age of 19.

I think he's seen more as a DM/CM for us. He hasn't played CB for the first team since his first couple of games there under LvG. He also played a lot of CM for the u-18/u-23 teams. Given our lack of cover there, I don't think we'd let him go this summer.
