LvG is a tit.

Jose has done well though in the way that he has virtually completely dropped him and opened the door. In a respectful way if you will.

Would love it if Madrid signed Hazard would significantly weaken Chelsea who'd have to go for someone like Sanchez? Could also potentially open the door for Bale to leave.

Massive summer ahead for us and Arsenal.

United need another midfielder too, surely everyone can see Fellaini isn't up to standard.

Meh, I think he is absolutely the right standard for Manchester United. They just need to pair him with Lee Cattermole in the engine room to form the optimal midfield duo.

TBTVDITW?

Spurs will be in for a couple of players I'm sure. Rumours are Max Meyer or Isco at the top of the list. Sure we'll buy someone from Southampton too just because.

that would sure be something

if Hazard is intent on leaving, James in a swap might work
(saw that rumoured, but ya those basically never happen)

and/or just sign Griezmann

Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfer Thread

Yeah, we're not signing Aguero or Ozil. We are about to do some retarded things, but RM are not that stupid. Coentrao will most likely leave, we get Theo Hernandez. I'm hearing Isco is close to renew his contract, lol us. James will most likely leave, lol us again. Bale will probably stay, becoming the biggest fraud we have ever gotten. Don't see us signing Courtois or Hazard. I can see ourselves selling James and paying the 100m release clause for Griezmann. He wants it and RM want it as well. If not, he'll stay at Atletico for one more year, because Simeone stays as well, he won't go to United. I hope RM don't go full retard and not offer Pepe the 2 more years he wants, instead of just one. I think we're also going to go for DDG again, since K. Navas isn't at 100% anymore after his injury and the spanish press have already started campaigns against him. Morata leaves as well if we sign Griezmann, obviously.

Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfer Thread

saying he didn't live up to the transfer fee is one thing, but calling him a fraud is ridiculous.

He's showed up in the biggest matches. Also think he adds value just because he has legs and everyone else in the front line is losing theirs.

That said maybe if they gave Hamez a run of games he'd have done better, who knows.

Feel like once Zidane put his foot down and insisted they played a DM (Casemiro) that RM are back to being a juggernaut. Pretty scary if they upgrade at GK/CF/DM too

What biggest matches? Give me 5 of those were he showed up. And it's not even about big matches, it's about being a world class player on a regular basis. That's what you should do for the fee and salary RM are paying for.

You need to replace anyone from our starting XI, and we start having a problem. You replace Bale, and we've seen it a ton of times now, and we are actually playing better.

If mbappe gets bought this summer anyone want to take a guess at how much Monaco gets for him?

Monaco would be stupid not to cash in. Look at lyon with fekir who probably lost about 20M of value for holding on to him

Yeah, but look at Bale for a great example of holding on to players and having their value go through the roof after another monster season.

Lyon held onto him because he injured his ACL and was out for 8 months.

Hmm, I feel like there is a greater chance of a £50m guy losing value (adjusting for TM inflation) than gaining it.

There must literally be at least 50 £50m players ITW right now. How many of those make the step to £80m though?

Certainly not Danny Rose, which is why it wouldn't break my heart to see him leave if.

I feel like when you're 18 years old, playing for Monaco and have absurd stats that are going to be probably unsustainable to reproduce is a better time to cash in than say the example of Bale. It's nearly impossible to reach a value that high at his age so my logic tends to be if you know you're going to sell him at some point and his value is close to ceiling, sell him.

He's getting a lot of spotlight because he's deep in the champions league and is in a great team scoring all the goals but next season some players might leave, he might find himself in a worse situation in a less attacking team where numbers won't follow and without CL spotlight/chance of winning the L1. Plus, it's Monaco an extra season of your 19 years old prospect can't be worth that much. You're huge dog to win the CL/L1 and you're probably locked in that top 3 that goes to the CL. It's not like Spurs where if you keep Bale and he produces that's worth a lot of money.

They didn't sell him in the summer despite his value being huge at that time and ended up doing his ACL in September but he wasn't going. Injuries are part of the equation when accounting for when to sell. A bit of bad luck and your value get quartered
