Its almost like there would not be a fairly straightforward methodology for choosing a valid RP.
Whatever, the point is there are and were still plenty of posters expressing shock and awes at certain valuations of players, whilst making the mistake of looking at that valuation in a vacuum.
Having an agreed upon statistically valid reference point makes looking at individual purchases and over all club transfer performance, in context, that bit easier.
People can be all like no **** sherlock. Yes it is obvious and maybe not that ambitious, still people keep using £ valuations in a vacuum on the regular tho.
Expressing valuations year on year fwiw is something BAIDS brought to this party.
Obviously if you carbonite a player its pointless as the RP value will suffer inflation at the same rate as the base currency value.
