great signing. i can only assume city turned down offers from spurs, everton, etc just as an "f u". if not, those clubs are dummies.

If Bale hadn't turned into a sicknote, I'd still be more than happy to have him. That said, I don't want him for even £40-50m because he'd be out half the season

If we could get him for something fitting a player of his recent fitness history maybe, but they will want like £100m and can **** right off.

A note on the Marty argument. If billionaires coming in, including human rights abusing despots and society raping oligarchs alike, is the only way to parity on a decent timeframe, then **** parity.

I'd love Spurs to have gone for Ihenacho, but he isn't going to get significantly more game time at Spurs than he did at City, I'm sure City didn't want to sell to Spurs, and I can't see Levy agreeing to the buyback clause.

Lester a good move for him. If he does well, he'll get a move to a big club in a season or 2.

neymar's goodbye-video on the book of feces if anyone cares btw...probably not.

https://www.facebook.com/neymarjr/vi...6965663339112/

these two quotes caught my eye:

Quote:
"i had the honor to play with the greatest athlete i've ever seen and i'm sure i'll never see anyone better.
leo messi became my friend, inside and outside the field. proud to play with you. love you!"

Quote:
Papa, entiendo y respeto tu opinión, pero mi decisión está tomada, te pido que me apoyes como siempre lo has hecho.
"pop, i understand and respect your opinion, but i made my own decision.
please support me like you have always done."

1st one got a good nod and the 2nd one a healthy chuckle out of me.

Not overly expensive but definitely not buckshee.

You know the Liverpool summer school is one the biggest scams in kids football? Well it is along with all the others run by the big clubs. Way too expensive (forget exactly how much it cost me ) with no real one to one coaching. Just one big class (60 kids lol) getting instructions from someone wearing a Liverpool tracksuit. Handy money if you can get it.
The kids spotted as top talent aren't doing this stuff though, they get it for free from the top clubs, that's the point.

Any other sport, no one is getting coaching for free.

Of course you'd say that, you're a United fan - although United are a pretty good example that having ****loads of money doesn't help you win if you waste it.

FFP isn't really fair play, it's cementing the existing hierachy.

So, just like any other sport, kids in football aren't getting coaching for free.

Surprised nobody took the gamble on Ichenacho from bigger clubs. 25mill is relatively cheap and he did great when he got the opportunity at City. Despite the small sample size maybe he could have moved to a team with EL/CL ambitions as he could turn out to be a great striker and even if he doesnt quite work out you can still sell him for some profit as he is really, really young

Apparently City have a £50m buyback clause. Can understand why their rivals wouldn't be interested in giving him first team football and watching him become a superstar before having to let him go for only £25m more than they sold him for.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but transfer fees appear to be going crazy this summer.
