Believe the rationale is he wants a cheaper defender so they can still bid on Alexis. THere was a report saying Arsenal declined a 45m bid for Alexis yesterday. Think the report was his agent saying it was declined.

his move from atletico certainly was a a bit of a head scratcher at the time.

that said, he wasn't even half-bad last season whenever he got minutes.
even scored 4 goals in 5 cl matches.

but then again, word on the street is he has been over-indulging himself with meat skewers all summer.

This isnt true as Monreal is very much a cb now and i think it suits him perfectly well. He should still play on the left side of the back 3 though.

We also have Kos, Mustafi, Merte, Holding.

I dont see how Chambers gets minutes here

Iwill preface this with monreal is obv the goat...

Would agree if we were playing a back 4 but having 5 for 3 positions, with the EL this season, seems light. Even more so when you consider that koscielny is sellotaped together these days.

Chambers would of course be back up but would get plenty of minutes in both cups plus probably ~all EL games

Yupp. Rumors are that he would be getting a really long contract and pretty much a guatanteed starting spot. Wenger pretty much confirmed that should there be an offer he wont stand in his way.

Haven't seen it confirmed in Dutch media yet, but it's entirely possible as they're currently playing without Sanchez again (at home against Rosenborg, 0-0 53' mediocre stuff all around)
