im pretty sure that min slots are just all 800k against the cap, even if you have 6 years service or 10 years or w/e (those go to like 1.3 or 1.6m or w/e)

Can't we just put it in the "teams" tab, then add the 8 salaries' value, and have it subtracted from 80,000,000? Then we put the league minimum in everybody's empty roster spot and it'll spit out our available cap #.

It's easy in excel, never tried it in GD but I assume it's similar.

this would basically be it in theory, yea, so like every roster spot carries a minimum hold of 815,615, so you can auto fill that in for every team, and then when you get a min guy he counts only as the min even if it's some vet who signed a min deal

edit: so in theory what teams have "left" as far as remaining space would be [first player] - 7x815,615 if that makes sense

then when you sign a 20m guy, now you have 1st round pick + 20m - 6x 815,615.

does this make sense?

idk how to do this in google sheets but im sure someone does (or you can google it), but you can make sheet 1 feed into sheet 2, and (much easier) just make b4 on sheet 2 be jokic's salary, then have b5-b11 be the rest of your team's salary, and fill in 815,615 for your other spots, and then have total salary be in b12, then remaining salary be in like b15 where b15=80,000,000-b12

It would be easiest just to have the min contract prefilled in for every pick and then replaced when it is made.

I'm so confused by the actual format of this. Forgive me.

So now we are maxing out our 80m on a starting 5? And then the 3-man bench is just minimums? So the bench is basically irrelevant to our team? Bench is way more important than people are giving it credit for especially on an 8-man roster

The TEAMS Sheet is almost done for 800k, I'll adjust it to the correct amount in a bit.

Can you guys let me know if this works before filling out the rest?

Man I feel like there is no obvious super elite players on non-max contracts (i had one in mind making around 20M/year). Could go with BPA but since the format is fun and you play to win the game I'm going with

KAT. The 3rd season is usually when guys enter their prime and see a big jump in their game and he's already an absurd offensive player who fits the modern NBA. Has the tools to be a monster defensively and still the best nba prospect in the league right now.

Best rookie season since Duncan 25.9 PER, 61.8% TS last season while spreading the floor.

Towns - $6,216,840

No. everyone counts toward 80 MM and is relevant.

Was either KAT or LeBron. I wenty with the better player over smaller contract

So are we set on 815,615 as the minimum? I can edit that into the doc.

KAT makes my Jokic pick look worse, I think Jokic is the better player right now but that gap could narrow next year, and definitely not 5 picks better at the top.

I thought he might go #1 prior to being randed there.

wtf is Magnummike?

I'd make sure he drafts on his turn before pairing tchaz with AIM.

I don't think the 5m between them is THAT important. as you get to 10ish, that's where the gape between players in the later rounds starts to get pretty important

i'm fine with 815,615 as the min. i saw the number in two different places so i'd be cool using that. and yes i think how you did it is good

KAT was #1 on my board, but I had him basically tied with this guy (I also think there are several different directions you could plausibly go here, I'm not sure how the draft will go just yet so I can't definitively say this is the right direction)...

Spoiler:

If you're gonna win, you have to do it with two way players. Major positive floor spacer for his position, incredible numbers on both ends of the floor, and for just 6.1m!

Spoiler:
You're either first or last, and if Embiid plays 2k minutes this year it's plausible this is the best pick in the draft

Spreadsheet should be fully updated. Can we get a few volunteers to PM RT their emails for access to update?

You should be able to put the salaries into the TEAMS tab and it will do the math... If it doesn't work let me know and I'll try to fix it.
