I love how there's a guy taking a picture of the hot reporter right in front of you taking a picture of her at the exact same time.

Awesome TR!

Unfortunately, I missed this dunk because I was working at Lucas Oil. It was on the basket I am usually underneath too. I'm bummed about that one.

You could have heard a pin drop in there. Everyone was just dead silent.
We ended up not being able to shoot any actual interviews because of some miscommunication among higher ups so we just basically hung out and shot some b-roll in there.

Nah, I have a GF.

Besides, I probably looked like hell from working way too much and getting no sleep all week.

No, but there were like a million crew people at the stadium all week so I could have been standing right next to him and at some point and not have known it.

The number of broadcast trucks and crews was insane.

Its been a while since I updated this thread, but March is crazy.
Tomorrow I'm working my 31st (and thankfully final) game of the month.

Between HS, College and NBA there has just been a ton of work.

Some Random thoughts:

-LeBron's headband is about twice as wide as everyone else's. It looks like a reverse yarmulke. Its crazy how much extra attention he is drawing to his hairline by trying to hide it.

-I'll be shocked if DeShaun Thomas isn't a better pro than Jared Sullenger.

-The addition of Nebraska raises the level of cheerleader hotness in the B1G Ten significantly. Welcome Huskers! The rest... eat more corn or something.

-Sleeper recruit: Aaron Brennan (Guerin Catholic HS). 6'6" Sophomore just led a school that has been playing IHSAA basketball for all of 5 seasons to a state title. We'll have to wait a couple years to see if I'm right, but I expect we'll see him in some NCAA threads eventually and I just want to be able to quote this and look like a smart guy.

-I missed St. Patty's Day Lin-sanity to work HS games for much better money. Just as well since I can't hold up silly signs while working. If I could it would be 'Big Trouble Lin Little China' which would probably only make like 10 people laugh, but I'd enjoy the hell out of it.

-Butler is just an awesome basketball experience. I was there for a CBI game, over spring break, so the atmosphere was probably a fraction of what it normally would be but it was still great. Ancient sweaty old gym (complete with trough urinals ), adorable and friendly bulldogs, and a coach who can win without behaving like a raving mental patient. Go Dawgs imo.

In non-basketball news, I'm working the Indianapolis 500, practice, qualifying, carb day, race day, the whole crazy scene.
I don't know a whole lot about racing, but its a big event so I'm sure it'll be fun to do at least once in my life.

Yo Noodle, you need an AC who has forgotten basically everything an AC needs to know and just wants to watch the F4 for free? Hit me up.

Sick gig. Indy 500 should be fun.

Side-not about Tebow. Not sure where I read or heard this but someone commented that he introduces himself the same way to everyone he meets. And that at bigger parties, he'll almost always remember everyone's name the second time around. Also, he shows a genuine interest in every person he talks to.

Used to not be a fan, but it's hard not to like a guy that down to earth with that kind of fame to go with it.

I'm very excited about the NBA playoffs. The Pacers really have a lot riding on this IMO. Attendance is still pretty terrible, but I think if they can win their first series and play competitively in round 2, then they'll get a big surge in local buzz going forward.

On a side note, if the Pacers were to somehow get to the conference finals (a long shot obviously), I'm already booked for the 500. That would be a bummer.

You're a film guy, right? Live sports doesn't really use a focus puller or anything that I would equate with AC skills.

There are definitely a bunch of utility/grip jobs though, and they basically watch the game from the front row and get paid. The only requirements for those jobs are the ability to over-under coil a cable, and not be a complete moron.

There are actually a fair number of utilities that don't really have a film/video background at all. I worked with a 40-ish lawyer at the Superbowl. One day in college he was looking for a part time job and his T-com roommate dragged him to a game as a last minute replacement and taught him to coil cable. 20 years later he is a successful attorney, but he still pulls cables on weekends just because he loves sports.

Unfortunately, I don't have any connections with anyone Final Four or New Orleans related. I am going to try to use my NFL network connections I made at the Superbowl to get to the Superbowl in New Orleans next year though.

If you have even a modicum of production knowledge and live in the area you should definitely be able to work the Superbowl in some capacity. They need a ****load of people for the million shows they're running.

Hahaha yeah I've seen grips on set and am always shocked that you get paid $26/hour plus crazy overtime for knowing how to wrap cables and how to assemble things like light stands and dolly tracks. **** is so easy. I'm pretty much done with on set work though, thankfully.
