TR time!
On Sunday 1/29 I reported for work at Lucas Oil Stadium
We ran an ungodly amount off cable all over the damn place
On Monday I sat in for Cris Collinsworth while we blocked for
Inside the NFL
On Tuesday we had media day
Special guest on our NFL Network set
The trophy travels pretty low key, though it did have a guy in white gloves standing by at all times.
The hoodie at media day
The Woody too.
He is even tinier than you would expect.
Tom Coughlin
Lots of weirdos showed up....
Fake Tom Brady in the house
Smoking hot Mexican TV reporter
I knew if I didn't get some pics of her, Lazy Meatball would never forgive me.
I have no idea wtf this guy was supposed to be
I guess 'Media' includes grown men dressed as super heroes.
I had Wednesday of, the spent Thursday and Friday working on
Feherty Live for the Golf Channel. Why the Golf Channel felt the need to shoot from the super bowl city, I have no idea, but their money is good so who am I to judge.
During rehersal, I sat in for our guest, Tim Tebow.
David Feherty is awesome. He was very laid back, cracked a lot of jokes, and has a filthy mouth and sense of humor. I wasn't sure how Tebow would take his opening monologue, which made fun of religion, but I stood next to Tim while while he watched it on the monitor and he laughed. Good thing too, since he showed up with Brendan Schaub in his entourage.
I should also mention that while I was standing around just off stage, Tebow walked up to me, stuck his hand out to shake an said 'Hi, I'm Tim.'
Does he think I live in a cave or something? I know who who you are Tim Tebow.
I didn't want to like Tim Tebow, but he seemed pretty genuine and personable.
Saturday I was back at Lucas Oil prepping for the superbowl.
The Patriots showed up for their team picture, and brought all their family and friends with them.
Tom Brady and his family plus Youk.
Belichick passing by Tom.
Myself and some co workers lounging on the NFL Network field set.
GAME DAY: At the stadium at 5am....
Our set with the talent: Alex Flanagan, Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson and Brian Billick.
Pats super fan
Random David Arquette sighting
Me on the NFL Network stage set.
Pats Cheerleaders that I ran into in the tunnel
Is Patriot Pat based on Quagmire or the other way around?
I wasn't allowed on the sideline during the game, so I went up to the NFL network box.
I did have halftime field access though so I went down to wtach Maddonna from up front.
I'm not a big Madonna fan or anything, but the spectacle of the whole thing was pretty cool.
Giselle outside the Pats locker room post game. She is a stick. I'd much rather have a random Pats cheerleader. Giselle wouldn't crack the top 100 of beautiful women I saw at the game.
Shortly after this picture was taken, I got to go in to the Pats locker room. The mood in there was like all of their childhood pets had just dies on the same day.
Drew Rosenhouse came in and hugged Chad Johnson, who was pacing around with re eyes and trying to keep it together.
Seeing the Pats all dejected, moping around naked, was both awkward and awesome.
I gave some solid press conference quotes
Then went out on the field.
Aftermath
The day after
In all, I worked a little over 100 hours in 8 days, including 17 on media day and 22.5 on game day.
It was grueling, but as a sports fan, I just want to find my way to New Orleans and do it again next year.
