I haven't used it, but here is the page that talks about "the postflop engine": https://www.upswingpoker.com/the-postflop-engine/

From the link it clearly isn't a piece of s/ware & thus this sub-forum isn't the right place to discuss it - probably better to ask over in a 2+2 strategy sub-forum. The "engine" name makes it sound like some sort of bot s/ware - but it seems to be just a strategy for playing postflop based around what category [of four] your hole cards fall into. I assume that's just a starting point & the decision is refined based on the board & other player actions...

I'm not gonna pay the small price they're asking for to find out if it's more than just the usual common sense cash games postflop advice

Hey caspro, just wanted to quickly answer this question (being as it is my product after all).

This absolutely should not be in the software forum. In this example the engine is being used as a way to think about poker, not as a computer program.

The postflop engine consists of a couple of short videos of me explaining the very basic introduction to postflop decisionmaking. How think about ranking your hands in a linear fashion, and then categorizing them in order to make effective decisions.

This product is aimed for customers who are just just beginning to think about poker strategically, and are confused with decisions like when to check or bet on a flop. This is not a product for anyone playing poker for a living or advanced players.

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be more then happy to answer them.

They show hand ranges for FR and SH , however all examples and live plays are for SH.THere are no advices on hud whatsoever. More general strategy and gameplay.

Doug you're saying now that the engine is only for beginners but on the upswing website it says the post flop engine is the EXACT method you use to make millions of dollars playing poker.
Saying that the product is only for beginners seems to be a huge contradiction.
Could you please clarify?

^ it's a process Doug uses to make millions every day
"The exact process Doug Polk uses everyday making millions of dollars playing poker"

It's obvious this is just one of them. If you want to know the others get the lab.

So AcKc and AhTh are Category 4 thrash hands on flop 9d8h4c and should be played only as a check, fold or check/fold. Solid advice imo.
