Next month PartyGaming will be upgrading our game software and we’d like to invite you to beta test it by downloading and using the new version of PartyPoker.com.

You won’t notice any difference between our old and new software in terms of functionality and features. Many of the changes have been made behind the scenes to improve the overall experience and to enhance the stability and performance of the product.

If you would like to download the beta, please visit http://www.partypoker.com/news/items/beta_download.html

Please note that downloading the beta version will replace your current installation of the client. Should you experience any issues or wish to reinstall the current client. Please uninstall the beta version and download our current version at http://www.partypoker.com/download/

If you do experience any issues please let us know at betatest@partygaming.com.

Please note the beta client is only available in English. Existing embedded casino games are not currently active.

I gave it a quick try but couldn't get it working: right at the end of the installation a screen flashes up really quickly and then closes, and then when I try to start the client I get a dialog box and what looks like the lobby flash up really quickly and close as well (can't read the dialog box as it's only up for about 1/10th second).

I tried removing the old Party installation as well and doing a fresh install and still got the same problem.

Ill get a real session in, and report back if there are issues.

I've come across a little issue now with HM Tablescanner. When I click on join table I get an error dialog, sorry can't quite remember what it said now as I've reverted to standard party version- somethng like make sure you have party open. The table was still opened by Table scanner successfully afterI okayed the dialog. No issues with this in standard version.

Small thing I didnt notice at first:

After installation, it left an empty set of folders on my desktop, where I ran the installer from.

What about introducing the CAPTCHAs you got in place for cash games to the MTTs or even SNGs as well in cases where you notice an unusual high online time or other suspicious patterns?

It should work there as well and would eliminate some bots playing or some players who use bots until the late stages of tournies to reduce work load. (I think I already identified 2-3 of those). Usually I like theese players at my table if I have position on them, because they play too tight. You can see in their stats that they have a very big volume of games (basically all micro MTTs) and a very very low winrate, but they still profit through volume somehow. Party may like the rake that theese people generate.

All of the remaining tournaments tonight have been cancelled, unfortunately without notice yet again. Does this mean that the software upgrade is being released overnight?
