Dave, I have an sql db restore basic question, before I search out the specific instructions, which I know you have posted.

I helped someone isntall HM and SQL months ago, and we installed it all to a separate D drive. He upgraded to XP pro, and couldnt connect. I was unable to find any trace of the installed SQL folders/files, except for this 'databases' folder, which had his 'data' folders, and a few of the other SQL folders. I am not sure, but it seems that SQL got removed/uninstalled. There were no traces on teh c drive, in the admin services, or even in the add/remove programs.

I installed a clean copy of sql to the D drive, and was able to connect to HM and get it importing to a new DB again. I then set up hm to import processed HH files from HM for now. I also created a 2nd empty DB in HM DB CP.

I know from your prev posts, that its technically possible to copy the data folders over, but how would I insure they go for the proper new, empty db, and not the new one he is using until I can restore the old one?? Is it even possible??

I was going to search the HM/pt3 threads, cuz I know you have posted sql db restore instructions previously, but I wan't to make sure it's even possible in theory, with my current configuration I set up.

I'm looking for a HUD for Merge Gaming (e.g. Carbon Poker). I've heard that GT+ works there, but I've heard that's no longer developed and not very good. Are there any other options?

For GT+, does it require a specific hand history database, e.g. PT2?

yeah, GT+ runs from a PT2 database.

If there is native PT2 support and GT+ works there, other HUDs will be along in due course I am sure

GT+ may well be quiet, but it is open-source code on sourceforge, so development is never truly dead. It is perfectly good, just not particularly advanced compared to modern HUDs

Not native, but there's a hand converter.

The last release I see for GT+ is 1.4.7, back in 2005. Is that the most current release?

Fozzy, re: database stuff - depends what exactly is in the data folder (it has to be entirely all present and correct).

there's a thread started by theIrishThug in the past week or so about doing this, although it seems more basic the idea is the same - if you have a proper data directory structure, recreate the folder hierarchy and install postgres over the top without "initiate the cluster".

The only folders I am positive are complete, are the data folder and below. There are a couple other folders in that directory, bin, and a couple more, but I know folders/fils are missing either there, or above it. Meh.. this prolly aint gonna be fun. Luckily I think we got a lot fo them, from the HM processed folders. Iunfortunately he had never ddone a export hands thru the hm db control panel.

2-4 rule.

I wanna run auto import for both PT3 and HEM. I wanna have one of the programs (PT3) move the processed files to keep stuff running faster. If both programs are set to import from the same place (default FT HH folder), then will PT3 move them before HEM can import them? Has anyone tried this?

Lots of people do, I used to do it, using HM as my tracker to move files. I think _dave_ was/is using PT3/HM/PT2 at the same time.

PT3 shouldn't move them til you close PT3. Just make sure you close HM first. Then PT3 should move them after you close it.

Yeah, he told me he was but said he left it off on both and that he was using PT2 to move them... just wanted to get that little detail cleared up since I won't be using PT2.

Thanks for the help Fozzy; you're the best.

Yep, just make sure you close em in order. You can always export/import from one to the other, if they suddenly become way different in total hand counts.

Anyone wanna share where they draw the line between color ranges (for a hud) on vpip and pfr? Obviously it doesn't really matter, but I'm just curious where some people draw the line between Nit/TAG/SLAG/LAG, etc.

Are there any AHK scripts that will click the "play now" button on FTP when the big blind come around.

Any that can make me auto sit out when the blinds come around (not really a big deal because I can just uncheck autopost and timeout).

Is it possible for something to break in a hard drive that just makes it really slow? I have a 4 year old external HD that I keep all my music on. Yesterday itunes was making weird 15-30 second pauses during songs and the drive was making noise. So today I bought a new external and I am copying everything over. It seems to be working but is taking forever, like 1 song every 30-60 seconds, maybe just because it is USB 1.0?

In case this doesn't work, has anyone ever retreived music from their ipod and put it back on their computer? I think I read some where that there is software to do this.

These are my old hud ranges. They are quite nitty, as I tried to set the ranges so I would appear orange/yellow in the middle, and I was/am a recovering NIT.

Not sure about free scripts, but if you are grinding FTP, I would suggest Full Tilt Shortcuts. best $30 I ever spent, while playing on FTP.

download Audacity: http://audacity.****************/ - Windows recorder can capture audio, but lacks any editing, and I'm guessing you will need to trim silence etc.. from the start/end of your custom sound clip.

i'm kinda curious what you plan to use instead?

If you are positive you have all the hands exported, and will never need the DB's again:

I am pretty sure all you need to do is go to Start > Programs > PGAdmin > Connect to Server > Connect To DB > Right Click DB > Drop/Delete.
