Most converters use stars format. There are a few old examples on the HM1 FAQs but not enough to probably be of much use to you for finding edge case issues.

Poker Journal and Poker Income are 2 of the more popular ones I see posted about. Run Good is another that comes to mind off the top of my head. PJ doesn't get much development anymore and usually has issues with major iOS updates so you may want to research before you make a decision. I rarely play live but I went with PI based on those iOS update issues.

Is there a software like HM2 that will track players on a table you are not sitting at, but may be spectating? Or does HM2 have a feature like this that I am missing?

None of the sites that HM2 supports allow you to use observed hand histories in your database. WPN was the last network to write observed hands but they stopped doing that recently and implemented a no-datamining policy like every other network. Using observed hands in your database (any hand you did not actively participate) in runs you a risk of having your account froze and/or funds confiscated.

Okay, thanks for the timely response. I didn't know that.

FPDB has a native SWC converter. If you study that you'll be able to handle all the edge cases. https://github.com/philroberts/FPDB-...ClubsToFpdb.py

Out of curiosity, how would the poker site know you're using observed hand histories? HM2 wouldn't be contacting the site, would it?

I have no idea if/how they would know. I would assume they generally find out the same we do, by the user implicating themselves. If they have some other technical way to determine this I am not aware. Also, I am not sure if they lock accounts or freeze funds for sure but I figure it's best to warn of the worst possible punishments for breaking any of the site's rules.

We wouldn't contact the site about someone breaking their rules. It's up to them to make sure their rules are followed, not us.

I think Stars Helper does what you want. There is a thread for it in one of the software forums/sub-forums.

And Table Optimizer does that now too.

Cool, good to know. I don't keep up on all the stars software as much as I used to since BF.

Searching to create an equity calculator (for fun and learning) for various obscure forms of poker.

I have read "The Great Poker Hand Evaluator Roundup". The date on the document is September 2008. I wonder if there is a sequel or some new developments since then in the field of free open source libraries. Or else if XPokerEval is where I should look at.

I prefer to use something written in C or C++ as I am a little familiar with them and they are languages that I can easily call from any other language.

pokersource / poker-eval / pokenum is probably still the main equity calc that covers the more obscure games, but I could well be wrong.

Anyone know if there's a script /software that allows you to type in a number representing % of pot and it inputs a bet size for you? (Obv I know there are various ways to have 2 or 3 preset sizings but I'm interested in having more flexibility than that.)

hi, i am a newbie and i would like to get some software to help me calculate and understand the shove/fold tables for various sized stacks.

i would like the software to be able to answer these questions about preflop stuff.

1) if i open the pot with hand xy with n players to act, what is the probability that i will have the best opening hand? (assuming some sane ranking of hands).

2) if i open the pot with hand xy with n players to act, what is the probability that i will win the pot.

3 & 4) same as 1 & 2): if i enter the pot with some action before me (and i put ranges on these players) and i have n players to act (up tol and including the blinds) ...

is there any open source software that would be useful?

how about any commercial software that would be useful?

thanks

He would know better than most. You might want to try posting the question in the mods thread in the WPN forum where some other modders post and maybe they will know.

Sounds like SNG Wizard type things to me. Unfortunately I haven't studied in this area for several years, so idk if anything new has come along. PT4 has a built in ICM tool, which I believe is similar. Maybe Cardrunners EV worth a look too. All can bve found in the commercial subforum here.

I'm looking for a very simple program to play a sound when a player sits at a pokerstars hu table. So basically the point when in the chat box it says: 'Dealer: A new game will start in 10 seconds'. What would be the best way of going about this and what program would I use? AHK?

Was wondering if anything like this exists. I was wondering if there was a program that ranked hands vs a certain range.

So say vs a 10% villain range, id like to know what top 10/20/30% ranges are vs that range.

Hey guys.
Is there something like a hotkey software for multiple sites? Im looking for Folding hotkey only but sometimes I play two sites and sometimes even 4. I dont want potbetting or whatever but only "rightclick->FOLD" on stars and FTP and Ipoker all at once. Does something like that even exists?

Thanks for the help.

You could maybe try asking agentduqe if you like the looks of the one he uses in his PG&C thread.

Is it legal to have a software display cards from folded hands on earlier streets in stud games? If yes, does such software exist?

Related, is there any software that tracks winnings in mixed games? Just something that keeps track of amount of hands and winnings, figure thats so easy there has to be?
