Ok, an experiment.

Please post random thoughts / requests, general low content posts, anything you like (within reason and within the remit of this forum) in this thread.

It will be monitored by regs who may be kind enough to answer if you ask politely. They are much more likely to respond politely if you ask in here than if you make a new thread for a trivial question Google could answer in less time and with less effort

If you make a trivial OP - I'll probably move it here anyway - but it may be left alone for several hours thus get lost in the mix - so please - think if you are about to make a new OP - where would I best get my answer quickly?

Obviously, questions related to a particular program / whatever that has a thread running here already - post in that thread.

So let us gogogo!

Hopefully this is a success

Im completely lost when it comes to converting the observed HH files saved by realtime as .tmp into .txt files so I can upload them into pokertracker

ive tried searching and found every topic available but none that solve this problem for me

ive tried the .tmp to .txt script but have no clue how to use it having never used a script program or autoit in particular

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...ghlight=autoit

Im sure there is a easy way to import the saved .tmp files into pokertracker, someone care to shed a little light real quick?

This is a job for DOS, no?

and a prime candidate for the *new* monthly thread (so others will comment on it).

Code:
copy *.tmp *.txt
might work?

DOS experts (or someone actually using realtime) please advise...

welcome aboard

Needs a few of us who know the search terms / links etc. to keep this a helpful thread therefore an uncluttered front page

Let us hope this works well

If you know how to navigate in DOS to get to the folder containing the .tmp files, use this:

rename *.tmp *.txt

I just tried it on some files I had in there.

Edit: I tried it on files that were originally .txt files. No idea yet whether that works on the files that are actually saved by realtime as .tmp files.

Edit2: Yep, it worked.

Nice idea Dave

Does anyone know off the top their head the thread that has that line in it to change the priority of Party on launch? Or can cut and paste if you have it....

nice thread.

I am sorta working on my Bubble Factor Calculator right now. Expanding it to 6 players instead of 4. Why didn't anyone tell me I could put the whole EV calc into one function and just call it each time lol...

As long as it doesn't end up 20 pages long... I try to follow the STTF monthly thread but have to give up around the 5th of each month

Anyway, off to get some dinner then come back to revel in some (hopefully) doomswitch-free poker! I think I upset the poker gods writing the SNG luck code... Daily bankroll sacrifices seem to have done the trick though!

I don't use Realtime but if you just want to import hands file extension shouldn't be a problem: File, Import..., Select File(s) to import, in the drop down menu select "All Files", and it should be working fine.
Or at least it works fine with tmp files created by Full Tilt.

I think that this post should be sticky, so fozzy won't have to wake up early every day to bump it :-)

Now a little question for scripters: some time ago I needed a very simple script and found AutoHotKey and AutoIt. Even if I'm not a scripter at all I googled a little and found out that AutoIt was considered more advanced. Then I saw that it uses SciTE as default editor, and so I installed it. Now I see that everyone here uses AutoHotKey, so I would like to know why it has become standard: did I read wrong comments, when I googled for some opinions? :-)

I'm not sure why ahk became more popular, but here is a thread on the ahk forum, comparing ahk and autoit. The supporters of each language seems to be not so fond of eachother.

I remember seeing a post about an AHK script that removed all the title bars from PS tables to help with multitabling. Tried searching but can't find it. Did I just imagine it? Anyone use it?
