I'm using the Hyper-Simple theme and really hate the notes icon. I can barely tell the players I have notes on while multitabling. I'd like to change the icon, but not sure where to look in my PS folder.

Where can i find the notes icon in my PS folder so I can change it?

Thanks.

C:\Program Files\PokerStars\Themes\ordinary\label

I suggest making your own XTheme version of hyper-simple. Otherwise it will overwrite your custom note image every time you start stars, or you will have to bypass the auto-update.

this is probably a silly question, but does anyone know of a way to get a custom table theme on stars where you can go above their pitiful options and be able to have a picture of yours as a table theme?

i have been using a slightly oversized button ,relative to the chips.
After the new pokerstars update, i copy/ pasted my larger buttons into the chips folder, but when i play at the table the chips show ,but it is blank where the button should be...any ideas?

It was working ok before.. i am assuming the new update might not be allowing a larger button relative to chipsize?....might have to experiment.

Not sure how you managed to do that previously. I tried doing it 9 or 10 months ago when I made my chips, and I was unable to use an over-sized button. It had to be the same dimension canvas as the chips. I suppose you could make the button as big as the canvas, and then make the chips smaller, with some space between the chips and the edge of the canvas, so it would still be the same dimensions.

i thought the oversized button relative to the chips wasn't working anymore but it turns out it can still be done...you just have to make sure the accompanying *.a file is the same size in pixels...i think you might have missed this detail like me.

im sure when i tried this it didnt work because the space between the other chips was too big

big dealer buttons seem to work fine, except that it spaces out the other chips proportionally

Oh, right. Yep, that's why I didn't do it. That looks a bit silly IMO.

i think it looks ok if dealer button is just one size larger...helps me a lot anyway.

You're gonna have to buy the deck from Fozzy here:

If you pay for them via transfer on Stars they're only $4, which is more than worth it, imo.

OK, I hope everyone enjoys this mod. I will probably keep trying to improve it, but I think it's pretty good as is.
in other news, tried installing this theme and failed miserably. sigh. followed the directions on where to put each file and idk i'm lost..

If you replace any of the default images in the \Themes folder pokerstars will update and download new, original images. You need to make your own \XThemes version of Hyper-Simple. It is explained early in this thread a few times, by Everlong, but here are the cliff notes version.

Make an XThemes folder and a folder within for your new theme.

C:\Program Files\PokerStars\XThemes\{NewThemeName}

Copy all the files in C:\Program Files\PokerStars\Themes\ordinary to your new XThemes\{NewFolderName}

Then replace the few default images in there with the custom images from the post you quoted.

how do you apply the theme once that's done?

You have to also create an XThemes.ini file with the appropriate code, so the stars lobby menu will see it and be able to apply it. See the first few pages of this thread for instructions and examples, by Everlong. I haven't wrote one manually in ages. My installers create them automatically. I don't have the energy to try and find it and explain it, after posting over 110 times at work today.

Once you have the xthemes folder and xthemes.ini file in place, then go to the Stars Lobby > View > Table Themes.

I have been trying my hands on some mac mods and came up with a simple black theme, thought I would share.

XThemes folder available for free download here: http://blog.macpokertools.com/files/...29/XThemes.zip

Unzip XThemes folder, place in User>Library>Application Support>PokerStars.

Start up PokerStars. Goto View>Table Themes... Scroll down and select Bling-Black.

Note, You must have the PokerStars Black Theme installed too for this to work right.

I have made some mac default card backs, but cant figure how to stop the PokerStars automatic update.. I have tried to make an alias, and have also tried removing the various update files and folders in the PokerStars package with no luck.. Anyone know how to do this on a mac??

Last edited by jdennis111; 07-02-2009 at 11:44 PM. Reason: Added small card backs

Does anyone have a custom simple black theme I could use? I've been using Everlong's Pitchblack for the past year. Unfortunately the latest stars update has created gold rings around the player boxes. I've fixed this in the past by resizing the pixels, but now I'm not sure on how to fix it. Please Help! These bright colors are killing my eyes.

Hi, is there some soft or faq how to make new theme ? I want one really simple for multitabling 12+ tables ... I am also curious if there is a way how to make tables even smaller, i can play 15 tables without overlaping with my modded ipoker tables on 1920x1200 lcd, but on stars I can play only 12 with slight overlap :/

I got this one from tiltbusters, it appeared to be one of the few they had for the "black" theme. Keep in mind table ninja is not compatible with the "black" theme if you use that program. Below is a link to where to get it from tiltbusters and a screen shot of it along with my cards and chips (also available at tiltbusters)

Poker ShortCuts has the functionality to be compatible with any custom theme according to Nanochip. It just takes about 6 hours of screen captures per theme, as well as some INI and XML type editing, and I have not yet attempted it with any of my themes. And probably wont have time, thanks to the FTP update, and my 60 hour a week job.

I play in simple mode and I hate the black background cards. Its hard to see whos in the hand against the black dark background.

I adjusted the image

C:\Program Files\PokerStars\Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple\back.bm p

To something brighter in photoshop.

Well now everytime I start PS it says "hey we have an update" and it overwrites my new image back to the crappy old one.

I deleted the update logs and it still did the same things.

PS support hasnt been much help.

Anyone?
