Does anyone know why PokerStars doesn't use a RSA security token app, like FTP did?

They do, you have to buy them in the VIP store.

Hi,

We've been considering this for the last couple of years (ever since the initial deployment of RSA Security Tokens). At this stage, while it would be nice to have, we have other development options that we consider to be higher priorities. As the penetration of smartphones continues to increase (especially in different regions of the world) we'll continue to monitor the situation.

In the meantime, we will keep listening to player views on the issue.

What is the current status on this issue? I really want to add an RSA token to my account, but I would prefer to use the RSA token application via my Android device.

EDIT: Specifically this app directly from the RSA Securid company itself: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rsa.securidapp

Why wouldn't this work? It seems to be indentical to a "real" securid token, other than the fact that it's not something physical.

It would work if Stars were set up with the back end to deploy SecurID's as soft tokens. It's something that I've mentioned in the Stars hacking threads; no engagement by Stars on the point so I suspect Michael's comment above is latest news.
