Well I guess since the old patch link is dead, I'll repost...

I patched it yesterday to expire in 2047. Could have disabled the date check completely I guess, but at the time in the disassembler I was sitting on the 0x7DD (2013) and it was easy enough to change to 0x7FF (2047), so that's what I did. If you're still using this version of Stove in 2047 when there are already better alternatives now, then I feel sorry for you.

Replace your PokerStove.exe with the one from the link below. If you're paranoid, scan first or run a binary file compare, i.e. fc /b old.exe new.exe and you'll find a 1-byte difference at offset 0x00001c87 where 0xDD changed to 0xFF.

Can't promise how long this link will work, so get it while you can, host elsewhere, etc...

What to get for free or pay <$100 to replace PokerStove ???

No offense to other posters but I don't want to download from unknown sources even though they are fellow 2+2ers.

I have flopzilla which is use for H's hand v. V's range , just simple stuff.

I used PokerStove for H's hand v. Ranges for several villains. Flopzilla can't do that can it ?

Any suggestions folks ?

There are several options better than Stove, which is why I was reluctant to even bother patching it. But I know a lot of people are fond of it, and it only took a few minutes.

Me, I like Combonator.

No offense taken, suit yourself. However numerous people are using it both here and at other forums, and I explained how to verify that there's only a single byte difference between mine and the original. The best malware writers in the world can't write a 1-byte virus/trojan, LOL.

I'd be careful of doing this as it can cause certain apps to go screwy with respect to updates and protection schemes.

IMO, the best feature of pokerstove is being fast and light.
And if you use Flopzilla you will love this one news!
It still on beta, but Scylla made an equity calculator very simple, effective and light as Pokerstove (the first one even better than pokerstove that I found, it use range selector similar to flopzilla... GREAT! ).

Check it out:

After the download finished, Norton insta deleted it. Tried a 2nd time, same thing happened... Might be Norton acting weird though, I don't know

If you have Norton's "Download Insight" (or whatever they call it) enabled, that's probably the culprit. When I ran Norton I had to disable it. It's not actually finding a virus, it's just seeing that it's an EXE and can't find a record in it's cloud database from enough users that "trust" it. So it mistrusts it by default.

I can assure you it's safe, but don't take my word for it.

Does anyone know if after downloading a different calculator, I would be able to use it w/ combonator? That's where I mainly used it but not sure if I can incorporate an EC other than stove.

Cheers, it works for me now. Edited my first post so others will know it's legit.

I have a similar problem now. When I try to install a new version it still says it has expired afterwards. Is this just a bug that pokerstove are working on or is there somewhere I can get a new unexpired pokerstove?

Just FYI folks, there's apparently no need for my patch anymore. From what I've heard the author uploaded a new Windows installer to the GitHub site that removed the date check.
