poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

This is a problem I've been having with the Pokerstars client. I've contacted support but the answers I'm getting are not helping me sort out the problem. Wondered if anyone here had any ideas.

I multi table SNG's with a stacked configuration.

The problem is that tables pop up when hands are folded to me (or when I raise and the table folds). When this happens it puts the priority of tables out of order and another table will pop up immediately afterwards. Many, many times it has happened that I attempt to click a button on one table just as another table randomly pops up, and it causes me to click that action on the new table that pops up.

Under showing/mucking hands I have the first three options checked (muck losing hand., don't show winning hand, and don't show when folding last). The fourth one shouldn't apply as I am playing tournaments rather than ring games.

Under advanced table options I have "pop up table whenever...." is checked and "don't steal focus....." is also checked. Also 'single click table activation' is also checked.

These are the only settings I can find that would have an effect on this behaviour, but I've changed them all different ways and it doesn't help.

The answer I got from stars was to uncheck 'pop up table whenever action is required'. But i'm pretty sure I need that one checked. Am I right?

I do use ninja, which might have somtheing to do with it, but I can't find a setting in there either.

From my converstations with other multitablers using a stacked config., they don't have this problem.

Any ideas???

no one I know has reported this yet

i take it that there is there some new stars feature where you can show hands even when everyone has folded, like UB used to have?

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

It's not a problem with third party software. It happens with nothing else running (except HM but I can't see that being the cause).

Stars does have the option to show your hand if everyone folds to you. It's been there for a long time. But I have that option disabled.

I will describe the problem one more time because I think my original message was a bit long.

1. I shove my chips on table A

2. Table B pops up requiring action.

***so far so good***

3. As I am looking at table B, table A pops up to show me that everyone folded and I won the hand.

The result is that I have to manually switch back to table B, or, a third table (C) will pop up immediately afterward. When this happens in quick succession (a couple milliseconds) I will often be in the process of committing an action on table B when A then C quickly cycle causing me to commit the action on C that I intended to commit on B.

Occasionally it just switches randomly between tables causing similar problems.

If this is normal could someone post to let me know. Or even post to tell me that it doens't happen to you. I'm totally in the dark here.

Could it be a setting in Windows?? I run 7 Home Premium.

I have tried with table ninja not running and the problem still happens.

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

Hi, this happens to me too for last 2-3 days. I have an action on table A and then suddenly a new one (B) jumps on the top (without me making any action on table A). I noticed only newest tables make these annoying pop-ups (when there is an action on the very first hand in sng, it immidiately pops-up)

I am currently moving the newest tables (which are about to start) temporarily on the other place on screen. Its pretty annoying, but what can I do.
Its interesting that I was using the very same settings before and everything was ok. It may have been caused by PS client update.
Hopefully its gonna fix somehow.

That's good to know. Please contact support and start getting on their ass about this. They're being 'mildly' helpful ATM but if more people complain maybe they can fix it.

They haven't mentioned anyone else having the problem so I think they totally arent aware of it.

yeah, maybe stars is internally thinking that tables where you have the option to "show even tho ppl folded" as requiring action.

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

I found out my problem was on Table Ninjas side. When TN was closed, tables were popping-up as they were supposed to.
You say it happens to you when no 3rd party software is running, maybe you should reinstall Pokerstars client.

classic table theme, run TN, xpadder (use PS3 controller), windows 7 64 bit ultimate, PT4

lmk how the uninstall/reinstall goes. my roommate thought he found the culprit having something to do with info tab being selected/refreshed or something, as this may have been interfering with TN and stars advanced MTT option conflicting...but it didn't solve it for me yet

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

Reinstall did nothing. Still happening.

I've been watching it more closely too, and it seems like it's doing it whenever there is a notification. Like when blind levels increase, when I'm moved to a new table...etc, that table will pop up to show me.

I notice that boliver is using 64-bit windows. Me too, anyone else?? Could that be it?
also I forgot to mention I am on satellite connection. Support said they found a lot of lost packets and that could cause strange behavior....but I really don't think that's the problem.

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

It will not be due to your satellite connection, the lost packets thing will not have an effect at all so ignore that.

The settings you have are all correct, try the following one at a time to narrow it down:

* Change your theme to Classic, the themes can cause a few weird issues

* Detach the chat box for all tables and move it to another place on your screen.

* If still happening, close each of the tabs within the detached chat window

Re: poker stars popping up tables...stacked configuration

^^ then we have no info screen, which I need for both blind increases affecting bubble play (SnG) and to know where the money bubble is (MTT)

theories I have heard so far:

don't have both TN and stars "auto close lobby when regged"
Don't have info tab selected to pop up
uncheck "new tournies take focus - (although I think this fixed when I would get interruptted taking notes)
Play high stakes HU PLO isnstead

also with new TN bugs (no auto reg or auto close) I doubt this will get fixed super fast
