I've written an android app to track my live poker sessions. I've uploaded it onto the android market in case anyone else would like to use it (though I did make it cost $1, because it costs $25 to publish in the android market).

Instructions:

To add a session press Menu

To edit a session briefly touch the session

To delete a session long touch the session

To define the start of your trip (to calculate a subtotal for a particular trip) long touch the session


It will track: location, game, buyin / cashout (and calculate profit), date, and elapsed time (it includes a session timer).

I hope others can get some use out of it. I've only tested it on my incredible and the little android emulator, so if it gives you any trouble, just let me know.

A couple of suggestions...

Can it distinguish tournaments from cash games?

Can it capitalize the first letter in Location, which will always be a capital letter?

I'll look into it and see what I can do

I added categories for Cash Game / Tournament / Casino Game / Other when adding a new session.

You can also filter by them on the main screen. Any old sessions you've already input before upgrading will show up in the "other" category and can be changed by clicking on the session and changing its category at the bottom.

Oops -- It's called "poker log"

You can scan this with barcode scanner to find the app as well.

Still a great app...a couple of ideas...

a) Can I manually add a time amount for a session?
b) Can the timer start a cumulative log of sorts, creating an hourly rate calculation?
c) Can the buy-in amount be remembered, like the location (nice feature!)
d) For the non-accounting type...for losses can we have the option to have them show up instead of ($100) as "-$100"? (to ease the confusion of the accounting uninitiated)

a) should be easy, I think
b) this should be easy too -- the only problem is that if you use the timer for half your sessions and don't for the other half, then it will be meaningless, but I guess manually entering times would fix that
c) I think so, let me try
d) That one is tough, I will look into it though -- the problem is that it gets the currency info from your phone, so say if you're in France it will display the euro symbol instead of the dollar sign. If I change it to - sign I don't know how to keep that ability, but I'll check it out.

I implemented the buy-in remembering, negative signs, and the manual time change.

The time change works fine on my device, but on the emulator it seems to be messed up -- if you get a chance, let me know how it works (just press on the time in the edit game screen).

Hourly rate is a must have. But overall it seems to be working well. When do you think you can add the hourly rate?

I'll probably have some time over the next couple nights to get it in.

Actually it was easier than I thought (famous last words). It should available as an upgrade now (v1.6) -- sorry for multiple updates back to back.

If you have a session running (the timer is counting) then it won't count towards your hourly
