i guess us players are there but multiple skins will cause horrible customer support problems since the software isnt very easy.

How is it a problem with multible skins? I've played quite a few diff prima skins, and they've been excactly alike...

The problem comes when creating installers for the customers of various skins, and being able to help them make the mods work if they have problems. You cant sell these mod packages, unless they are super simple to install for 99% of the customers. I don't think it would be right to make a deck of cards to sell, that have to be manually extracted/installed, due to the massive number of different skins and install paths.

Re: New Prima/Microgaming Card Mods

well you have to see it from the view of a complete computer noob. nobody would understand how to set up the right path for cards and cardbacks or tablemods in the installer and im not capable of making an installer which detects the skin someone is playing on

edit: thx fozzy

Re: New Prima/Microgaming Card Mods

Firstly, I'd like to say that I think Fozzy and Mr Q are without a doubt the most creative and artistic modders in the business.

Secondly, I'd like to say that, for whatever reason(s), they are both being purposefully, and somewhat gleefully, difficult in the matter of MG mods.

Thirdly, as for ease of mod installation, we can look to PaulG and his installers/installation instructions. I am about as noobish as a computer user can be, and I have no problem installing Paul's mods into any of the 6 MG sites that I play. And changing them whenever the mood strikes me (Paul ported 3 of Fozzy's decks, so there is a good choice for any session).

I think there is a market for MG mods, and if Fozzy and Mr Q continue to ignore it, they will be foregoing a source of positive EV.......steps off soapbox.

Re: New Prima/Microgaming Card Mods

I make mods for myself to use, and then compile them to sell to others. I used to play at FTP, and never made a Stars mod til someone shipped me $10 on Stars. I no longer play at FTP, but still port all my stars mods to FTP, for obvious +EV reasons. I dont have enough time currently to keep up with my to-do lists for Stars/FTP mods. My list of updates and new projects I want to do, is literally a few pages long. It would be silly for me to add MG to that list, when I would be starting from scratch to learn their mods, when i could better spend my time catching up on my to-do list for ftp/stars. This is why I have been willing to share a few decks in the past, with people like Paul, SzS, and others, so they could port the decks quickly. I simply dont have the time to learn a new network of modding specifics, for a site that I have never played.

Re: New Prima/Microgaming Card Mods

hehe, not sure about the market thing. im not excepting more than 5 sells

anyways, because im curious we can start a testrun. ill convert some of my mods to mg today and you pm me if you are interested to purchase them

as mentioned b4 mods are not the big problem, especially converting them from my ftp and stars mods, but decks and the 50 files to resize clean are a pain in the ass (i refuse to mod the rabbit cam cards).
2 decks are already done (one.90 and neon)
also no variation like on ftp or stars will be added. i guess backgrounds for the mods are no big deal, but yellow spades and 10/T are up to me.
ill post some images later.

How about you ship me a copy of your mods so I can learn how to port some of mine (if I ever feel like it).

Re: New Prima/Microgaming Card Mods

as mentioned before, they are all painted on the background with disabled felt and rail, so by changing the background you can have installed them all at once.
