Stars Debustifier v0.1

It will automatically close tournaments when you win or bust.

Timer Interval is how often it will check to see if any tournaments finished.
Below that is is the path to the PokerStars.log.X file in your pokerstars directory. X will be a number, choose the most recently modified version.
It automatically minimizes to the system tray and saves settings.

WARNING: Start this program and activate it before starting any tournaments. If you load it while you have a tournament running there is a small chance it could close a tournament you're actually still in. This is because it loads all the results once at first and tries to close the windows, after that only new additions to the text file are used.

This is the first version of the program so no warranties, use at your own risk. All feedback welcome.

i tried to get it to work but on the way i had the problem that there is no PokerStars.log.X in my pokerstars directory only a Pokerstarsupdate.log.x or a stub.log.x - without finding the right file its not possible to get it running - any ideas?

When you say it may close tourneys you are still in.... will it even click through the warning that appears if you try to close a tournament you are still playing in?

It sounds great and stopping myself being able to click and look at the last hand of tourneys I went out of will help a lot. I think I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I'm not sure, it's pokerstars.log.0 on my machine. I'll try and figure it out what's up.

dave: It sends the WM_CLOSE message, I'm not sure whether the dialog box would come up. If you start the program before starting any tournaments it won't ever close a tournament your still in, the worst that could happen would be it doesn't close a tournament.

On vista you have to go to c:/users/YOUR USERNAME/AppData/pokerstars

appdata is hidden btw so you need to type it in, using the log file there didn't work for me either tho, but i'm not sure if i ran as admin

i used pokerstars.log.1, not .0 so that might have been the problem as well.

Ah thank you simplicity, I did not know that, I'm still on XP. I'll have it detect OS and give the appropriate default setting in the next version.

So far I've only seen pokerstars.log.0 and .1 used. The .0 is usually the most current one but I'm not sure if it is always the current one.

If you don't where the file is you can try the windows search function and search for "pokerstars.log.*" (without the quotes). Hit View->Details on the toolbar and find the most recently modified file. I'll try and make it automatic in later versions.

Alright, It should detect the path to application data on vista. I don't have vista to test it so if there are problems let me know. The system tray icon should unload itself now too. No other changes, source is included.

I've been busy so I haven't got much work done on the auto-reg part but I plan on getting to it soon.

no didnt try if it works on vista so far - i found the file with simplicitys tip but didnt play a set of SNGs on vista (onl on my laptop i use on the weekends) - but i will report next weekend

Do I have to download the megaupload thing first?

You click the megaupload link, then type in the 3 letter captcha and then hit download, click "Free Download" after the 30-45 seconds it takes for the button to be available and then it will start downloading.

So it searches the PokerStars.log.0 file for a message before closing? What logged message is it searching for?

Yeah, it searches the Pokerstars.log.0 file to see if you've busted out. It looks for any instances of "You Finished" in the file then grabs the handle of the window and tries to close it. If you're familiar with programming the source code should be pretty easy to follow and is included in the download, it's the first VB.Net program I've written, I mostly stick with C/C++ and Ruby for common tasks but I decided to be adventurous.

Thanks. I've done mostly ahk scripting and my idea for searching busted tourneys was using the registered in tourneys feature, or individually searching each hand history. I like your idea much better. Thanks for this.

I have it set to look at "C:\Users\[insert windows username here minus brackets]\AppData\Local\PokerStars\PokerStars.log.0" if that might help anyone else get it working with vista.
