Threads rising from the dead....

I wrote a Stars HH script a while ago and posted it -- worked better than the one posted at the start of this thread.

I did however announce that I would not support it after reading most of the sentiments on the forum against it.

There are *still* services out there that advertise Stars HH files, and people on here that want to trade them...

Can anyone offer insight/links where people are sharing PS databases on 2+@? What forums in particular?

im never gonna data mine, but im glad ppl are, as datamining busted ap/ub.... not saying you cant trust stars, but i think ppl should always be watching, and i think the sites should know ppl are watching.

AFAIK: PT3 now supports "limited" datamining on PS, with the following rules:

1) you are allowed 30 mins of datamining, after that PT3 stops automathically all the hands' recording from tables you're not involved in.

2) to restart datamining you have to exit poker stars client for 30 mins, then the cycle can start again.

my 2c: a good AHK programmer can easily setup a script managing to endlessly datamine in this fashion, plus with 2 Pcs (alternating the 30 mins rule) one can datamine whatever he likes on PS.

NOTE: I'm not either supporting nor practicing datamining on PS even if I thought a bit about it, ethical reasons (stick by the rules or go play elsewhere) self convinced me. I use PT3 though and get my fair share of 30 mins recording every now and then, especially when I watch end games (on big tourneys) of my favourites PS pros/stars.

anyway , to keep yourself updaed check periodically here. Things/rules/policies may change... even though I must admit I like 'em as they are.

Hi everyone,

I couldn't find an answer in any of the programming forums so I try my luck here...

I try to figure out where the current version of Pokerstars saves the information from the instant hand history folder on Vista. I know that former versions saved temporary files in a subfolder of the handhistory folder, like "C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\xxx\CurrData". But this seems not to be the case anymore.

Does anyone here have an idea where I find the observed hands now - on XP and on Vista?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,
streidl

btw: I know that HH files are saved @ user/appdata/local/pokerstars/handhistory on vista... it's about the ovserved hands from the instant HH window.
05-12-2009 , 04:55 AM
anyone tested that?
05-13-2009 , 10:29 AM
noone any idea?? there are scripts and programs out there that record observed hands afaik. so there should be a solution for this, right?

Would be great if someone here could help me.

Thanks in advance!

they havent been written to the drive for a couple years now, they keep them stored in memory to help prevent mining

I wrote a dataminig tool for pokerstars. Here is the download link:

You need the .NET Framework to use it!

So, you know something is wrong, and against their TOS, but yet you still are trying to do it anyway. You're a smart one.

pretty sure it's impossible anyways. buying hands from someone is the only way i can think of..
