With the death of spinlyzer there is a shortage of software for analyzing spin games / situations at 15+ stakes.

Problem : PT4 does not offer easy ways of filtering situations / games or reporting statistics in 0 reg games, 1 reg games and 2 reg games.

I can make software that will give you the option of filtering specific positions vs regs, even filtering vs specific types of regs. Splitting a PT4 database into 0/1/2 reg games databases for easier analysis.


Why am I posting this here instead of just making the software and selling it? Because I hate coding licenses, making a webpage, handle sales and all that bull****.

This is pretty simple software that I already have proof of concepts of and estimate total coding time to something like 25 hours ( probably less but will have to handle support aswell for the first month or so until all the bugs are ironed out ).

I value my work at $30/h so total software cost at $750.

This thread exists to evaluate whether there is demand for this kind of software and if the community is willing to promote this kind of development.

I already have a proof of concept and some rough code written for analyzing my own DB, I can make a video if people are skeptical of my abilities / of me (since this is a new account) and am willing to show the software to some more reputable member if people require a vouch.

The software will be open source in the end if enough money is raised so other people will be able to improve it easily.

So what now? please vote in this poll and if enough interest is shown I will create the software and we'll see what service to use to raise the money ( or maybe just use another reputable member as escrow? )

If it takes you only 25 hours, why not just do it.

I am doing it. But there is a difference between some scripts put together to use on my own data and a polished easy to use software meant for general use.

I expect to have a working barebones version by the end of the week.

This is 100% NOT true PT4 is by far the poker tracking software that allow the most complete and customizable ways to filter any poker situation on any games that it effectivly tracks and this is also true for the report, even if it isnt a statistic you want you can just create one, there´s even chops where you can buy custom PT4 statistics (check propokerhuds)

Well people either don't know what you're talking about or there doesn't exist the functionality i'm presenting. Can you link to the specific propokerhuds stats that filter every spin situation vs regs or non regs?

The database splitting i'm sure isn't available in any software because it doesn't make sense for anything other than spins.

if you make it, if it interesting and it will works like you said, I am happy to buy it. believe if soft is good you will find enough spiners to pay out your job as 750$ is not much money to collect. but probably you will need invest your time first. anyway, if product will be good you will easily get pay.

25 hours seems a bit off

If you could do this, why not just do it and then come to market? It's something you would use either way and you'll get a lot better response if you were to show some screenshots, vids, beta testing, etc

If it's gonna be open source why not just put on github with a generic license. As far as sales if it's good it will sell it self.

Because I'd be pretty pissed if I spent a couple of days ironing out bugs and usability issues for nothing.

However it seems there is enough interest that I will do it and present it before gathering the money because there now seems to be little enough risk of me wasting my time.

So expect for a video / beta starting at the end of the week at worst.

I understand your confusion but that's because you probably haven't tried to make consumer software before. You don't know the level of minutia you need to get right so that people have no problems in using your software. If I just cared about doing the functionality for myself I wouldn't even have to make a full blown program, i could hardcode all my paths and db names and have no interface whatsoever and it would take me a couple of hours to set up some scripts that need to be fiddled with just a little whenever I want to update my DB's. Making it easily usable by everyone else though, that's the real work that I only need to do if other people are interested. Hope this explains the lack of proof so far.
