Big_Mick00, It's an .exe file so I think all virus check programs and the like will warn you about running an .exe file downloaded from a source you don't trust, as they should. As I say earlier ITT, I'm not going to post anything dodgy on a domain with my name all over it and risk my reputation if I'm doing anything malicious when it can be so easily found out (reverse engineering the assemblies, using monitoring tools to see the application is doing anything dodgy, etc, etc).

I'm leaning towards keeping the application completely free so I might end up posting the source code/project on my website and people can download and compile the application themselves if they are really worried about running an application from a source they don't trust.

I think this could be a very useful tool for studying, and would prob be willing to pay for a more polished version if you develop it more. Some suggestions:
- access to hh converter options, ie. display bb's instead of M
- option to remove "Skype HH converter: ..." line with a purchased version
- integrate directly into Skype if possible
- if above isn't possible, option to minimize to systray instead of taskbar
I'll keep these in mind for when I do an update, thanks. I think it's annoying having to remember to launch the application each time you are running skype. My ideal would be for it to autorun when skype is launched or on startup and sit in the systray rather than the taskbar. Also connecting automatically when skype goes online rather than having to click 'connect to skype' would be nice. The less effort and more seamlessly it runs in the background the better.

This is pretty annoying and I admit really need to come up with a better way of displaying the suits, including as another poster suggested adding some colour, it's hard though when the Skype API is so limiting.

also somebody in the skype group just posted a hand and my client auto-replied posting the same hand again.. ?

- tahoma does work here sometimes, but arial seems to work

- i also have the issue of hands beeing automatically reposted. Essentially in a groupchat any hand that is posted by anyone (regardless if he has hhconverter installed or not) is reposted by everyone who has it installed

I would like to get a 4 color deck going, unfortunately due to the limitations of the skype API I haven't worked out how to do it (yet).

Regarding the auto reply with a converted hand history if someone sends you a HH, that behaviour is on purpose (unless I misunderstand what happened), the idea been that if someone doesn't have the tool and they send you a raw HH both of you will want to see the converted HH (it's not possible to edit the original message hence a reply is sent). This behaviour can be turned off if desired by setting the 'convert received messages' property to false.

As I said above, replying with a converted hand history if someone sends you a raw hand history was by design, however I never considered how badly that would work in a group chat when more than one person has the converter.

I've just done an update to the program, there is now a property called 'Convert received messages group chat' which by default is set to false. If set to false auto replys will no longer by sent when there are more than 2 people in the chat.

Changes in the latest update (which should be an auto update when you launch the program...) are:

1) The inclusion of the 'convert received messages group chat' property, which disables (when set to false) the auto conversion/reply of received messages in group chats.

2) The application now minimizes to the system tray rather than task bar when minimized, closing the application still exits the application completely.

3) Removed the link back to my website that is displayed in the converted hand history. There is a chance I put this back later, but for now I'm going to exclude it.

Please note - the latest update will reset all of your settings (for example if you added a line to the 'hand history detection' it will be gone). Sorry about this, its the price you pay for using the Beta version. But it's free so you can't complain too much In a future version I'll make it so settings don't get overridden, as obviously it's very annoying haven't to set them again.

Re: Convert hand history to skype format?

thanks alot for this siac0!!

although one thing stopping me from really using this is that most hand histories i think people post in chat are taken from HEM last hands pop-up (clicking txt) and not straight from stars, the skype converter doesn't seem to convert these.

or do i just need to add a string to get this to work?

Good point that a lot of people will be pulling hands straight from HEM rather than the raw HH. I'll have a play around with this in the next few days when I find the time and hopefully get it working.

Re: Convert hand history to skype format?

Alex0r,

If you add the line:

***** Hand History for Game

Under the hand history detection options, then I think HEM 2 hand histories should be converted, I don't have HEM 3 open right now (am on my laptop) so there is a chance HEM 3 requires a different line but I can't see right now.

I'll try and make HEM2 and HEM3 defaults in the next update I do too.

If someone could PM me what the hand histories in Poker Tracker look like that would be useful too.

Thanks

Re: Convert hand history to skype format?

Above is meant to say HEM and HEM 2, not HEM 2 and HEM 3.

Re: Convert hand history to skype format?

HEM or PokerTracker
Here's a sample PokerTracker hand to help you see the correct format if you do not have the software available:

PokerStars - €0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4: http://www.pokertracker.com

UTG: €2.00
MP: €1.85
Hero (CO): €1.70
BTN: €0.98
SB: €0.76
BB: €1.45

SB posts SB €0.01, BB posts BB €0.02

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.03) Hero has Kd 2d

fold, fold, fold, BTN calls €0.02, SB raises to €0.08, BB calls €0.06, BTN calls €0.06

Flop: (€0.24, 3 players) Qd Ah Td
SB checks, BB checks, BTN checks

Turn: (€0.24, 3 players) 8s
SB bets €0.68 and is all-in, BB calls €0.68, fold

River: (€1.60, 2 players) 6h

SB shows As Th (Two Pair, Aces and Tens) (Pre 45%, Flop 86%, Turn 9%)
BB shows 8d 8c (Three of a Kind, Eights) (Pre 55%, Flop 14%, Turn 91%)
BB wins €1.50

+1, I have tried adding the string suggested but it didn't work.
