Well, now that the cat is out of the bag...

I'm still working on it, but having the source for the old converter should greatly speed things up.

Re: Cake Hand History Converter

Not happy about the direction this has gone either with no way to track play at Cake. Also as a side complaint - I happened to have rakeback with an affiliate and had no problems running 1.0.6 but when I upgraded to 1.0.7 I no longer can log in. I have generated plenty of rake this month so I have no idea what gives. I'm not even sure who is in charge of this product but since I am technically one of the paying customers it would be nice to get a version of the product that works.

Re: Cake Hand History Converter

lol i went to the website considering signing up and noticed that they have no way of knowing where my money came from... just gives a screen name to send to and theres no download option on the site for it.

edit: well i got an email for where to download, still don't see how they will be able to verify my payment though.

Re: Cake Hand History Converter

Can anyone tell me where the free version is and if it is working for them? I've been clicking on earlier pages with no luck.

Re: Cake Hand History Converter

Weird problem tonite. I changed my screenname and now all my hands are converting to 'observed' hands and therefore are useless. I've changed names a bunch of times before and never had this problem. There's nowhere to indicate your name in the converter is there? The origianl HH files are fine, so it's obiviously something with the converter. Any thoughts??

For anybody with ^^^this^^^ problem....Make sure that you close & reopen Cake if you change your name after already playing some hands. Otherwise, the hand history gets confused as to who you are and you have to edit the files. Live an learn.

I could go either way at this point - anyone have any strong preferences one way or the other?

Re: Cake Hand History Converter

Just for the record. I am Randy and I own Felt Poker and Mewsiclovr did the original Cake converter for everyone on the forum so we could keep records. OPP paid to have one created and approached ML to stop offering his converter so he could use his.

ML has worked long and hard trying to keep up with updates for it, but since he can't spend his life doing that, it seemed like a great opportunity to let someone else worry about support for it. We all know Cake is dead set against any kind of software on it's site and works hard making sure people can't develop anything long term.

As we all can see, this hasn't worked out very well and it was really weighing on ML's mind. So, we decided to release it back to everyone open source. As Mewsiclovr stated, he's hated to see this debacle continue and wanted to put an end to it.

So, I want everyone to understand that this was not the intent of ML or myself. I'm sorry for the way everything went down and hopefully this whole issue is resolved.

Thanks

Randy

Well... since I play a lot on stars and not much on Tilt I'd rather Cake hands were converted to Tilt format. Would make it easier to identify what hands come from cake. That might just be me though

Of course ideally it would offer us the choice but I understand that would be double the work. I don't have much free time but I guess I could give you a hand in my spare time.
