Hi guys,

As a courtesy, I thought you'd like to know that in a forthcoming release, PokerStars is implementing support for multiple time zones, and that will affect our hand histories.

The release is scheduled to hit the .NET and the Macintosh .COM client today. Windows .COM is scheduled for Monday.

You can visit www.testpokerstars.com and play around with the new settings to get an idea for what has changed, but the key difference is in the first line of a HH:

Glad you guys rejected my cash out now.

I assume once I start playing regularly, and earning rake again, I will eventually be able to cash out the rejected/transferred funds. Or at least cash out my profits and then keep playing on my transferred funds.

It would have been nicer if you had just added the UTC time to the end of the line like this:

2008/11/07 7:38:49 ET [2008/11/07 12:38:49 UTC]

Then many parsers would not need to change.

Thanks for the heads up. Changes in parsers should be trivial, especially if the database engine itself uses timezone info for timestamps.

I just released fpdb alpha9 which should support the new format. I don't suppose there is some kind of mailing list or anything like that I could sign up to to be notified by email about this kind of thing?

Alex, I've tested both the updated Mac client, as well as the PokerStarsTest client, and neither of them seem to be writing hand histories with the new date format.
