I was wondering in O8 tournaments how should you approach hi hands,,especially when your stack is dwindling? Im not sure if limping them is spewy or if raising is spewy and i cant seem to be able to find a fold with these hands... what do you guys think?

I'd fold myself :\ No idea if it's correct though. Also check the clock and bank if it near end of level so u skip bb and go to stud hi

Table dynamics/reads would be key to me. Neptune04 has a good point about blinds going up.

Open raise, to steal the blinds from UTG, sounds laughable to me. If we do this we are left with 2.5 BB and commited to any flop. I try to think back to how many times an UTG raised stole the blinds and can't think of many. I've never played a table, with over 7 players, that was so tight that a open raise is good for a steal.

Stupid math! 4.5 BB, but I still hate an open raise.

The hand is flawed. (It lacks high card strength and is a rainbow). However, I'd generally want to play it in a fixed-limit cash game. How to play it would, for me, depend on table dynamics (in other words on how the other players at the table would be expected to react to my decision. My experience is different groups of players react somewhat differently.

A tournament is different from a cash game. Again, what to do would, for me, depend on table dynamics. But your blinds are coming up in the next two hands and you really only have enough chips to play one hand.

Do you think you'll have a better hand next time, when you post the big blind, or the time after that when you post the small blind? (I don't).

Do you think you have a good chance to pull off a blind steal? (If so, raise).

You're in a tough spot here - you more or less have to make a move this deal, or on one of the next two deals if not this one (else you won't have enough chips left to make a move)... and you don't have a great starting hand with which to make a move.

(I think this is probably the third best starting hand at a full table... something like that... but there's no guarantee an opponent with a better hand will want to get involved here).

Hard to advise you.

Buzz
yet another great piece of advice
