In Stud8, for example, you announce your hand from the worst card down, because basically any low has pretty good winning chances. Your 7-6-3-2-A is a "seven-six smooth".
This is nothing to do with the relative hand strengths. People announce "Ace-deuce" in O8 because that's what their hole cards were. It would be silly to announce cards that were already on the board. If the board were A-2-3-J-K and you had 4-6-x-x you would say "Six-four" or "Four-six" .

yeah if you dont have nut/2nd nut low, pretty much count the hand top down like in any other A-5 low game

Drawing to straight 6's can be quite frustrating. Frustration leads to anger and anger leads to the craps table playing don't pass and laying full odds.

Unless you're in a very loose game I think the marginal value of 2-3 in FIXED LIMIT is worth very little if you don't have great position.

In PL/NL these hands have more value because you can get more leverage from a one-dimensional hand, and your free-rolling opportunities are worth much more, e.g. made low against a set of aces where you have a live draw to high is much more profitable in big-bet O8.

agree with this, position is more important in limit...for example i may fold from the SB with KK23 if I don't think I can isolate often enough...but I will often choose to 3bet in PL/NL just b/c I know I'm gonna get it heads up much more frequently

I wouldn't call it a "leak."
KK32 is the best of the ace-less 23** hands.

Here's how ProPokerTools ranks the contenders:

But I think "flexible" is better than "rigid."
