R.I.P PLO8

I dont know if changing the 55 from plo8 to nlo8 was necessary but it does look like they added some nice mtts to the schedule. The 27$ progressive super ko seems like it will be a fun tourney to play.

Just noticed, that P* added 2 new tournaments to schedule:
6:05 CET 22 $ NLO8 turbo 200 $ GTD
19:05 CET 27 $ NLO8 PSKO 500 $ GTD

Not much, but still something new, which I see as positive move from P*. Specially PSKO can be insteresting. Hope to see next changes.

A few more changes/additions:
-$22 NLO8 at 10:35 (no guarantee tho)
-$11 R at 21:05 changed from PLO8 to NLO8 (and is also now a turbo)
-$7.50 NLO8 at 23:05 (new addition it looks like)
-$22 NLO8 (turbo) at 00:05 (from PLO8 to PLO8).
-$11 NLO8 at 3:05
-$5.50 NLO8 at 5:35
-$2.20 NLO8 at 6:05

... and 55 $ PLO8 is now NLO8

Really good to see changes, but I hope we won't have to wait another 5 years for new tournaments, because these doesn't help a lot. Still nothing added for morning session in Europe and there's only Omania 16,5 and KO 13,5.

Too bad that a lot of new tournaments doesn't have even small gtd prize pools, cause a lot players has filters for GTD only. Most of those tours without GTD will be just canceled. In today's new 22 $ NLO8 there was only 200 $ GTD and there was no problem for players to make prize pool around 1k.

don't like the change of the 55 to nl08 cause it's a tournament that has been successful also halved the guarantee but that could just be summer time stuff

Wow, 167 runners in the very first $27 Progressive KO is pretty awesome. This is definitely a popular format and Stars picked a good buyin + time slot for this new tourney.

One issue that may come up is the method KOs are awarded for split pot games. In the $13.50 PLO8 KO that runs 1 hour after the $16.50 Omania, 100% of the $2.50 bounty is awarded to the player with the high hand. I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the Pokerstars software or if they had intended for that to happen.

When the bounty is only $2.50 (tiny relative to what top 3 pays), it's not a big deal. However, with the PKO format, there are spots where your decisions are solely based on the size of your opponent's bounty and there are potential bounties that are worth more than final table money.

If you win the low in a three way pot that knocks out the short stack, you should be entitled to 50% of the bounty.

I'm unable to play the tournament til the weekend, so if anyone can share whether the above issue stills exists, we can bring it to Stars' attention quickly.

IMO I hate the changes.. Why not just incorporate more NLO8 without killing of PLO8. From what I've seen so far of the NL08 it's just donk flip fests during the shorter rebuy period where good PLO8 used to be... IE push AA35.. get called by 358T there goes your mtt... Increasing variance by a lot.. As someone who switched to PLO8 after mixed games died off this just blows.

Because 358T can't call push in PLO8... Come on. I also prefer PLO8, but NLO8 is not that bad and it's still skill game. I don't get why 55 $ PLO8 get changed for NLO8, since there was never problem with that tourney and easily get 9-12 ITM place. Instead of that 109 $ PLO8 should be change, because a lot of time there's only 3-4 ITMs. Anyway since they are working on fixing o8 schedule, I'm ok with those changes, but as I said many times, I hope that it's not end of changes, because morning European session got nothing and tournaments without GTD are not fixing problem, because they will be canceled a lot of time (a lot of ppl has filters on gtd only).

I welcome 358T calling my pushes. If u get knocked out so what it's internet poker, plenty going on. I don't find nl08 to be a particular high variance game myself. I noticed the 55 has changed the structure to give tons more levels and antes, it played out pretty well structure wise, still don't get the change but if suddenly it starts getting 100+ runners then I'll take my hat off.

Lol, you guys seen the new 55 structure? Anti nit and much better for anyone who can actually play instead of just sitting there and folding. I'd rather have kept the PLO8 too, but the structures in those comps are kinda bad. I say kinda because they finish reasonably quickly and that must attract some guys to the plate.

Yeah fair call! Was just a first day rant on my end.. I'll welcome those calls anyday. I understand with the 3-4 ITM that's what all the mixed games turned into post Black Friday... Also with the time thing, I'm with you in NZ that's probably my evening and on the wrong time zone for mtts! Hoping not the end of the changes either, but what can ya do!
