      Turn: (3600.00, 2 players) T

      Call.

Kings, queens, jacks, nines, fives and sevens on the river, exactly half of the unseen stub, are a disaster. The other 22 river cards may not scoop for Hero but are at least not a disaster for Hero.

SB probably figures Hero would raise his flop bet with the nut diamond flush. But a non-nut diamond flush is more likely. What does SB figure Hero would do with a non-nut diamond flush? (I don't know).

Prior to the flop, after the other two players have folded, SB just completes. Does that mean he doesn't have a good starting hand? Would SB have raised with a strong starting hand, or maybe just with a starting hand having a couple of low cards. In other words, what would SB need to go for a blind steal? (I don't know).

It's unlikely SB has flopped a diamond flush. Considering the cards Hero can see after the flop, as simulated (Wilson, 100,000 runs, non-folding), SB has a diamond flush about one time in four or five (21,789/100,000 as simulated... about 22%). We don't know how many diamonds SB holds, so that we don't know what he should expect Hero to have.
      • (With no diamonds, SB should expect Hero to have the diamond flush about 22%)
      • (With one diamond, SB should expect Hero to have the diamond flush about 18%)
      • (With two diamonds, SB should expect Hero to have the diamond flush about 14% or 15%)
All of those are as simulated (Wilson non-folding, 100,000 runs each)

At any rate, SB, if we give him credit for knowing the game, should expect the odds to be somewhere between 3 to 1 and 5 to 1 that Hero doesn't have the flush.

What then should SB figure Hero holds to call SB's half pot flop bet when the flop has enabled a diamond flush. My guess is SB puts Hero most likely on a low draw maybe with a pair, pretty close to what Hero actually holds. SB probably also gives Hero an outside chance of having a diamond flush, and if so, probably non-nut.

Now the turn ten pairs the board and SB shoves. The ten is actually a good card for Hero (trip tens, but no low yet). But SB boldly shoves, confronting Hero with a tough decision. (Hero risks tournament death by calling).

It's a good play by SB, almost regardless of what he holds. Hero is unlikely to have diamonds and Hero is unlikely to have a ten. And Hero can't like calling if drawing only for low without at least a ten.

But this time Hero has the ten, and with an ace kicker.

My guess is hero has the best hand at this point, and if not Hero still has a decent draw.

      Call.
