Re: PLO8******merge o8 US regs ******
Buzz -- if you visit the other forums, you'll see that there are "regs" threads for a variety of different sites/networks, where players discuss whatever they want to about the site on which they are playing. I don't think the OP intends to exclude anyone, just seeks to start a "regs" thread for the O8/PLO8 players on the Merge network, which is where the PLO8 action seems to have meandered since "Black Friday". You may recall that we had/have a Pokerstars/Full Tilt "regs" thread.

I left plo/8 mtt's on merge. I never had problems on FTP or stars but saw so many hand plays that made zero sense. Kind of felt it was team play. Later merge.

could this be a coincidence, as antes kick in closer to the bubble?
The problem with the antes for most plo8 regs, is that "we" know that as long as you can manage to survive in a plo8 mtt you pretty much always have a chance to take it down, or at the very least have a good chance at the top 3. In other words, for those who know what they are doing all antes do is add to the variance. And for the fish, well, lets just say they really don't need any more reason "to see the flop".
tbh, I haven't really given it much thought so I am not too sure if the antes benefit my game or not, but so far I have roi of 63% on merge in plo8 mtts. But I am one of those who thinks he runs way worse than anyone else on merge in plo8 mtts, lol. Btw, is 63% decent over 100+ sample size? I really don't know cause I don't consider myself a plo8 mtt reg. What I do know is that I ran much better on PS, CEREUS, and "former" Cake (don't play on that ghost town site anymore).

Your average loose passive fish can only find the Fold button near the bubble and also has no clue about pot size relative to a preflop raise...
Steal Blinds + Antes > Steal Blinds

yeah, maybe, as long as you are fine w/ the trade-off, i.e. an increase in variance. My point is more of a tactical nature, IMO a "big" or "bigger" stack at the start of the FT of a plo8 mtt is not as important or as valuable as a big stack at the start of lets say nlhe mtt. And besides at least from my own personal experience on Merge, I am really only able to significantly increase my stack size on the bubble in the $20s. Anything below and "stealing" the blinds for sole purpose of just stealing, is -EV, at least for me.

Re: PLO8******merge o8 US regs ******
just checked the buyins for nl and they are pretty lol. for example, 5/10 has a 150 min, 3/6 $100, there doesnt appear to be 2/4 at all, and 1/2 has a 25 min and a $500 max. no real consistency at all and the min buyins are way too low for good nlo8 games
the min should be raised to 40 bbs. i also would have no problem just not supporting nlo8 on merge at all and keeping the small player pool as strong as we can in plo8
not sure who we should talk to in order to request changes though

Ur right the appropriate place for this gripe is in the internet/merge thread.
It might be wise for the people seeing this to look at those threads and voice ur opinions if you havent already.
notice there arent many responses to our concerns and wants.
