In the big bet (nl/pl) game it's very important to place a great significance on one's high hand potential. Not only does it give you a chance to win the pot without a low being possible, it also becomes very relevant when one makes their low hand and splits the low side of the pot. Furthermore, it gives you greater confidence and bettability of your hand, often enabling semi bluffing with near impunity to which your opponent(s) can only react by folding since they cannot pay the crushing prices you will and should charge for them to make their half pot hands.
