Hello Omaha gurus

Wondering if anyone can recommend any good Pot Limit Omaha high low books specifically around tournement strategy?

I have read Jeff Hwangs book, Bill Bostons book and some of Sam Farahs book but havent found any book specifically focused on Omaha Tournement strategy.

I play quite a few PL08 tourneys and feel the weakest part of my game is when I get down to 2-3 tables. Would love some strategy/books/ websites with advice on how to play when you get this deep.

Appricate any replies. Thanks.

Just play low stakes short handed cash games with 100BB stacks and you'll catch on real quick...

To my knowledge there are no books on this. Look up the wells of AJB4 and runvnme. Dan Wolcott also did a series of articles on O8 MTT play for 2+2 magazine.

I read the "Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide: Tournament Edition" and I believe Mike Matusow writes the chapter on O8 tournament strategy. It has been a while so I don't remember any details, but I remember thinking at the time that it was an okay read.

The wells have more valuable advice than books do sometimes!

When I started playing PLO8 MTTs I wanted to get my hands on as much learning material but it seems to be pretty sparse. I think most regulars that play PLO8 MTTs learn from experience, work away from the tables, and drawing from experience from other games. I don't know of any other books that can really help you further than the ones you listed.

There are a couple videos of PLO8 SNGs and MTTs on PokerXFactor. I wanted to post some of my interesting final tables in that nifty PXF hand history player in my well thread but I found out that replayer is no longer in commission. However, I will almost definitely produce some videos for PLO8 MTTs on a training site relatively soon.

Dan Wolcott has authorized me to put up his expired 2p2 PLO8 articles (all rights revert to the author at the expiration date).

Since he's not paying me squat, i haven't reformatted them, so they may be hard to read.

Generally trying to avoid showing up in the same web search as this other guy. That other guy may at some point be looking for a job, or parole, or an audience with the supreme dictator, and may not want his first 100 google hits to be about the pokerz.

Hi . With all respect i dont agree. For tourney end phases there is no better training then sit n gos. You learn how to survive short stacked and eventually take it all down. As ive read in a book dont remembrer which one : its the flight simulator of the final table and thats so true. I already entered final tables as the shortest stack with 10/15 bb vs 50, 100 bb' and took it down. And i Know where it comes from > intensive sit n go's.

Totally agree...9/18 mans will help your late game immensely, if you can get them to fill. Even hypers can help you quickly develop your push/fold ranges which is useful in many critical MTT spots, even in satellites somewhat. You don't even have to play high buy-ins, the small-stakes guys can be surprisingly solid.

I was coached by ajb almost 5 years ago. He's a good teacher and lays a great foundation for a solid sng/mtt game, but anything after that is difficult for him or pretty much anyone to explain since the game and players change over time and the only way to develop these adjustments is grinding it out. Out of the 10 that started, at least 3 or 4 of us saw some pretty amazing results.

Dunno if he still plays or any of the others do, would be cool if they still lurk around this forum though.

Oh and while it might be kinda unpopular at this particular time, mddgfc might have some useful info in his well. I rarely got to talk to him, but I picked up some things that even still are useful just from grinding against him back in the day and paying attention to his game...especially his early sng game.
