With the death of online poker, I have been missing my 0maha 8 fix, and with the rake and slow place, casinos are a horrible place to play omaha hi lo. I was thinking we should set up a 2+2 omaha8 homegame. I can set it up in my house to start and we could find new places to play. As for stakes I think it should be 3/6 limit and 1/2 plo8. That should enough to be fun but not tooo high. If some of the sickos are bored with those stakes, they can always play and crossbook each other to make the game play bigger.
I am in Venice. I could provide the house/table if someone can bring chips, but I wont rake the game, just want to get a weekly omaha8 game running. I would be down t even play 4-5 handed the first time, just to get the ball rolling, but there is no reason not to try this.

Please respond here with suggestions for the game and what your availability is, and then we can try to pick a good date and play some cards

If you like playing mix, I can connect you with some folks. There is a solid core of people that live Westside and SFV that like all these games and at the stakes you describe.

If you're willing to travel a bit, I can host. My wife and I would both play if we hosted but you only get one of us when we have to travel because the sitter it takes for us both to go out is often cost-prohibitive.

OP I am curious, why do you always get banned?

de facto I always get my 2+2 accounts banned because I am a horrible tilt monkey on the internet and part of my tilting process is to bust my 2+2 account after I bust my poker account.. sometimes through self ban and sometimes by taking indefensible political positions. Its a problem Im working on, but in person I am calm and win and lose like a gentleman.

Lets get this game rolling, even if it wont be super EV, we can disect the hands after we play them and all of us will emerge from the experience better omaha 8 players, so when the we regulate poker in the US we will have plugged our leaks and win all the moniez.

If you are willing to host I can def travel to you, if you and your wife is in, then we will have 3 then, and getting 2-4 more should be no problem at all. You are a respected 2+2 mod and Im on my 8th 2+2 account, so people might feel more comfortable playing in a home game you host anyway. lets do this

I'm close to Venice (Pacific Palisades) and have chips.

I neither want to beat up other 2+2ers nor get beat up myself. I don't know exactly how to accomplish that, but it would be fun to get together and I'm willing to give it a try. If Truthiness gets a game going in Thousand Oaks, that's fine too.

I'll be happy to help get this game going, and I don't have to host every time.

We've started this game before, and it's easier to get a regular (rotating) game started at my place because no matter what there will be enough to put together a game. Also, I usually cook and offer alcohol, and I don't ask for any money. I try to make it worth the drive.

We quit hosting the game because we were too busy with work and children. We're ready to play again.

That said, don't expect the game to be easy or profitable. All I mean by that is that most posters here play for profit, or try to. This is not the kind of game that is going to help pay the rent. But it's usually a lot of fun. You should think of playing with this group to be social and the level of play to be highest-amateur.

There's enough interest, but we all work. I love to play but this isn't my first priority.
