Club LO8 20/40- 3b highhand IP

How do you feel calling vs 3b this hand in position. I would prefer to play it HU or MW I guess.

Once the 8 comes on turn, can you do anything other than call?

3 betting is awful. Hand plays terribly heads up. It only plays well multiway.

you'd usually want to 3bet hands that swing in both directions.
one way hands (either high or low) tend to play better in multiway pots.

as played, the turn call isn't very good. you only play for half, and your half prospects aren't great at all. if you don't 3bet preflop, the pot isn't so big for you to consider chasing half the pot.

see how it all connects?

I probably fold to the double bet. Hero will see a queen or a jack on approximately one flop out of four.

You can approximate this rather easily. Before you see the flop, there are 48 missing cards, enough to make 16 three-card-flops. Only 4 of these three-card-flops can possibly have a queen or a jack. The other 12 three-card-flops don't.

When you have four high cards yourself, low is even more likely than the standard 60%. And you have no draw for low. I don't like your starting hand much. I'd play it if I could see the flop cheaply, but that ain't gonna happen here.

I'd play this if I could see the flop cheaply as a "set mining" hand (meaning I'd be hoping to make a set of queens or jacks on the flop). And I'd want as many opponents as possible seeing the flop with me, so as to get paid off when I flopped my set and went on to make a winning full house or quads. But the part about as many opponents as possible seeing the flop with me ain't gonna happen either.

I'd hate this table and I'd fold to the pre-flop raise.

I don't think having multiple hands in one thread is a good idea. There might be a case of having a couple less hands all at once though. Having said that we could do with a bit more posting of limit hands in here!

I agree with you that he has started too many threads. But I disagree that it would be better to lump them all together in one massive and intermingled thread.

Better, in my opinion, if a poster starts no more than one or two new threads per day, each one about one specific hand or topic. Too many new threads by one poster can be overwhelming, especially since fixed-limit, pot-limit, and no-limit folks are trying to coexist in this Omaha-8 forum.

niss (one of the other moderators for this forum) has already ably and privately taken care of the issue in this case. OK?

It would be cool if you posted about hands that other people put forward as well, as it sounds like you know quite a bit about the game. I shall no doubt be posting another over the next couple of days.

I believe it is possible to learn a lot by analysing other people's hands as well.
