tptk+nld is a strong and often dominating hand.
also, 800$ isn't a lot in a loose live game with a 10$ straddle.

To think that we could get it in and be dominating is extremely optimistic.

$800 is not a lot in a heads up raised pot. In a multiway limped pot it is way too much to get in with top pair IMO.

6 reasons i don't like the post flop shove: Aces and deuces. The 6 of these left in the deck are also non heart hand killers. Your good outs are 3,4,7,8. I think your first instincts for not playing a bloated pot out of position is the best strategy here. Either a bb betsize to leadout, or c/ call postflop.

That $225 potsize bet isnt going to work here like a nlhe all in bet. The other players just aren't going to let you run them over all night stealing like that. Your almost repping a set of jacks here, and any good low wheel hand is priced in to call with straight and low draws.

imo save your good aggression plays oop for when you have GOOD redraws to go with your ace2. Like nut flush draw, and/ or wheel redraws.

You want to build momentum at your table by crushing and scooping pots. Individual hands are of lessor importance. If you go on chasing in these kinds of spots and lose your buy in, eveybodys going to donk bet into you all night long " come on buddy".

Re: Live PLO8 mid strength hand OOP

I don't play cash, and hands like this remind me why.

I think it's worth a small raise PF, for value and to promote the J-hi heart flush, but can see not wanting to do so OOP, esp. considering you expect most/all players to call even a pot raise.

I don't like the bet on the flop. If you intend to get it in, then c/r seems better. If you don't want to get it in there, then not sure PSB on flop into several opponents is the best play either. If you c/c, then you see what the turn bring and play it accordingly. If you c/r, you are likely getting it in against a wider range.

As played, I think there are two real options: fold or reraise AI. A pot reraise of a PSB when there were 7 players to flop shouldn't be taken lightly. Your read on villain only reinforces that. I think it's a flip at best and hero is probably a slight underdog, enough to justify folding here. Definitely don't see use in calling to see turn, as hero is OOP and will likely be in worse shape on turn than on flop. A jack would do wonders, but a 3,4,7,8 that makes low means a str8 is on board and villain could be getting quartered and hoping not to be counterfeited on river. Also, hero doesn't want this pot anything more than HU, as his hand will likely suffer disproportionately. If villain A hadn't called PSB, hero might be more confident that he can get it HU, but being that he may not be able to do so and either way can justify a fold by equity, would lean to folding here.

Re: Live PLO8 mid strength hand OOP

Thank you all for your feedback.

At the table I felt that my goal here should be to get heads up. My hand plays very well to the low and mediocre to the high, it's hard (though obviously not impossible) for one opponent to have both of those beat. I bet the maximum at $725. Villain A looks unhappy, checks his cards, and mucks. Villain B tanks for a little while then asks what I have behind. I tell him $75 and he says he'll put me all in. I obviously call the last 75$.

The board runs out 65. I table my hand and announce Ace Jack (At this casino the player OOP is first to reveal if it's all in before the river). My opponent grumbles and mucks his hand.

Again, thank you all for the feedback.
