And also afraid of losing what edge they have .. and hoarding the knowledge they have.

I played in a private 10/20 limit mix game last night and there is one guy that falls asleep during the session and plays about 6 hands in 5 hours. When he plays a hand it's basically turned over. When I can, I like to 3bet to isolate and try to outflop him. I love turning over KQ99 for the scoop.

He is the quintessential lazy, unimaginative nit. He thinks that there is a right way to play, and that's it. Obviously, this can be exploited, but some people think that there is only so much thinking to this game and that it can basically be played by rote.

IMO a lot of people play this way online too and rack up their FPPs and don't think much more about the game. A lot of our regs do this. (The best don't.) IMO these are the people who are most afraid of other people learning how *easy O8 is. They are afraid of losing the *edge that they obtained so easily.

This is a core question -- whether O8 can be substantially *solved. I think I'll open a new thread.

Both will gladly call down super light. I don't find either to be that great.

It has it all the things I love about o8 players. There's 5-6 pages of people deciding whether it's +ev to have it and then like 6 pages of people saying f**k it. This guy sucks but not as bad as this guy lol.
I think it'd be terrible to close this thread ever! Although it should be named PLO/nl o8 regs thread I play 23 hrs a week on both sites and no not one person mentioned that plays semi regularly.
Nice thread will read again.
milk
I don't remember anyone debating whether it would be +-EV to have this thread, the concern was just that it'd turn into a big fight (which so far it hasn't).

Trying to qualify for the FTOPS on Monday is tilting the be-jesus out of me! It would've been easier just buying in directly . . . and cost me less in the cash games im playing at the same time

I was trying to leave it open what "solved" means. If I frame the question I limit the answers. It's kind of working well as it is.

maddox hold is the pl50 player I'm most afraid of but that's probably just because I'm not adjusting well

also, does blueboy man actually win? I have him as a massive loser over 2k+ hands and I find it hard to believe anyone would play that much as a loser...

2k hand sample? Lol, but yea I have no idea who that is.

BigHeadMode has played a 2 20 minute sessions (possibly less) while I was playing both last night, & the night before. I found that interesting.

ok, but i think you're point above is a very interesting one to discuss, and it hasn't been in that thread, which has some interesting points, but is more 'lets define terms here' and about poker in general.

maddox is nitty, easy to exploit. blueboy is a slight loser too I think, at least he loses with me at the table.

i am xmas on ftp and I do not play o8 extremely often anymore but when I do play I think the following players are good at 6m/9m:

moneytoburn, protek, dorsal fin, mega dis, pred, daveb, jaxx (x2), striker, avatar, whothedonk

haven't seen in awhile but I think these players have played well:

heath, genius

the plo8 player pool is so small as it is. do you really think talking **** about existing players is going to help things...child please! keep it pos

Blueboy can get tilty at times. I haven't imported PTO on this computer, but I'm gonna raise my hand as well for having him as a losing player.

Maddox_hold gives me problems. He seems to read me very well, 3/4 of the time. Yes, he can be nitty, but when he opens up against me, I'm in trouble.

XP_Bateman (I think thats his name, I always picture him as Michael Bluth for obv reasons). I find him to be the best 6max reg that I play against.

Thoughts on Morris Chestnut? My gf has a thing for his looks, and I seem to have a thing for paying him off light.

I find him passive.

NovaChamps can be a nuisance, imo. Another that I have not seen for a few months that used to drive me nuts was Gouranga.

Most at NL can't seem to play postflop and most of the regs at .5 and 1 are pretty transparent.

Morris Chestnut is similar as Frank Thompson, tight passive, doesnt like to fold once he puts money into pot (dont think Ive seen them b/f )

Bump for Unnamed13 on FTP.

Just another rip on Lacey Duvalle. She's so awful that she lost 50k live in the last two weeks and the first hour that she plays online, she gets berated constantly because apparently that's how awful she is. And to make it worse, all her mistakes are caught on the next Stoxpoker video. What a fish.

Let's all attack her with personal insults. It's not enough that she just punched her 30 inch monitor to pieces out of stress and frustration, that she found out her partner still has cancer, and that people are taking advantage of her financially and otherwise. Seriously. Eff her.

Lacey, you're honestly horrible and absolutely deserve everything that's come to you.

Sorry, those sound like some pretty bad life beats. Try not to be too hard on yourself (or your computer hardware). I'm sure things will look up eventually, I just hope it happens sooner rather than later. GL.
