Club L08 blind defense question

Playing 8/16 HK I'm in the SB with A5T7

Folds to CO who raises, Button folds. BB is a huge fish in the game and will most likely call and CO seems to be a solid player. Is this a hand that you are defending with here? Does the answer change if BB is a normal or tight player instead of a fish? Whether you say call or fold, what is the minimum type of hand for this situation?

Most pots in this game were multiway pre-flop so spots like this didn't come up much but I figured it would be good to have a baseline for when they do happen.

Thanks.

Re: L08 blind defense question

not enough for me.

1) if you were BB, easy defence.
2) if it was BTN who opened, o.k defence.
3) if CO were bad/loose, o.k defence.
4) make the 5 a 4, o.k defence.
5) make the T a K, o.k. defence.
6) make the 7 a 6, better, but i'd still fold.

in general, you should play tightest from SB facing a raise. play more pots in position.

Not to hijack, but what if hero is in the same spot, but his hand is something like A 5 J J ? Do we now like a re-raise in hope of knocking out BB and getting it heads-up?

Re: L08 blind defense question

definitely a marginal call, becomes more worthwhile if BB is spewy post-flop but otherwise probably just toss it

the hand matters less than the fact that the BB is the spot and you want him in.
you might be correct to flat the entire range you play in this spot - AA23ds included.
if BB defends wide even to a 3-bet, then by all means 3-bet the nuts.
as you can see, it depends a lot on the BB.

Re: L08 blind defense question

I disagree with flatting my entire range here.If BB is so loose he is not folding any A2/A3 .. hand but might fold a dry A4 to a 3 bet.So i like 3 betting A5 in this spot(if i decide to play the hand )but flat A2-3 to keep him in.Also may be i am too 6 max neuro imprinted but i def play this hand(3 bet if loose BB,just call if BB is tight)
