This took place on FT where i havent figured out how to request hand histories post session yet so sorry for the manual description..

This took place on a swallow 6 max micro PLO8 (0,2-0,5 or 0,5-0,10 i dont exactly remember)table(40bb buyin max) where every single player was as weak passive as it gets(players checking or min betting huge combo draws on flop etc).

Im dealt As44Qs in SB,all 5 players limp,i complete,BB checks(almost every round PF was like that).

Flop comes 4 7d jd giving me bottom set,i check w the intention of check raising pot if any of the 2 short stack guys(10-20 bbs each) bets.

Instead of that,UTG who has about 90 bbs bets pot,UTG+2 calls,BTN calls and im sitting there w about 120bbs having 100bbs BB behind me yet to act and im sitting on bottom set w no redraws to anything, thinking that any one of the players who calls might easily have a monster like nut low draw w nut flush draw but might be under reprersenting his hand either to trap more players in or just because hes so passive.

I think to myself, does it really have come to this,im folding sets now for one bet?like what am i gonna play from now on,only pocket quads?
But i can easily be a dog to an a2 w the nut flush draw, somebody could have a wrap w some low draw so most turn cards will leave me playin for half pot at best, and if someone has a better set im already drawing dead.I ended up folding thinking that there will be better spots..

Thoughts?

No need to ever check raise bottom set when its limped family pot.
No need to fold either, call and play some poker.

Call, and reevaluate.

Fold if villain who POTS flop would never do that with anything but a set.

folding is right

too many draws out there for you to get involved here

Agreed. Other than the last 4, what card on the turn can we bet or even call with? Maybe an off suit K or Q

+1 The case 4 is your ONLY friend. 3 Villains, at least one of them is 23xx, and IMHO one is JJxy where x is a low and y is Ace/King. Bad news. Toss'em in.

There are 12 non diamond high cards that can be good for you, provided UTG (the only one you are worried here) doesn't have bigger set. Just because he bet the pot on that board does not say he has a set. You are getting 4-1 to call. You do have that case 4 out there. There are 6 other cards than can give you boat and may be the best hand. Usually players don't bluff if they don't have it here. Non diamond Ace can scare players if no one has 23 and can give you some room. Sure you can fold and stay away from hard decisions, but I say call that $3 and see what the UTG does on the turn.

Jeez, tho, its runner-runner for a straight, and a paired board helps JJxy... more trouble. IMHO, learn to laydown... this one's a good start.

i think all the omaha 8 media available on the internet like the vids and especially books have caused me confidence problems with my sets.i mean even top set i just call in this spot and fold if turn comes low and pot is 2 or 3way...

Pre. is meh. ... you are massively discounted to see the flop, but it's so hard to hit well and if BB raises it's insane to call. A lot of the times you'll hit bad and fold, and the rest you'll hit meh were folding seems bad but it's not like you want to put all the money in either. With the reads you had that everyone was super passive, I can see myself clicking call anyway.

On flop ... I'm not sure x/r shortys is best, you are pretty much hoping to be 55-60% against anything reasonable and I don't think you have any fold equity with a x/r. Also if UTG has the same plan with JJ it will be super hard to fold even if you _know_ he has to have JJ.

After UTG pots it, lol fold. I mean yeh some people will pot any A37+ here because the pot is only 6bb so far and they want to reduce all the backdoor draws ... but one of the reasons you called pre. was that the entire table was passive and bet small with draws. And any half decent draw is doing pretty well HU vs. bare bottom set, but any set has you crushed. The fact two other villains then called behind UTG doesn't make this a better call IMO.

Folding 44 no low here is not the same as folding JJ no low.

I'd junk it. At best you ship it as a small favourite, and worst you are drawing to 1 out.
